People aren't necessarily asking for bannings. Take your parallel to cars, drivers are licensed, cars are registered and warranted as fit for the road. In NZ teenage drivers have a restricted license (curfew, restricted types of passengers etc).

In the US, the number of cases of cirrhosis of the liver is about 26,000 annually - so it's touch and go which causes more deaths - guns or alcohol.

Add in all the deaths from alcohol related vehicle accidents and alcohol comes up the winner.

It's not the alcohol or the guns that kill people, it's the people who make descions to drink and drive, or make descions to pick up a gun and shoot someone....people are the problem.

First time I handle any gun the first thing I do is check to see if it is loaded. Not mater who handed it to me.

BAH!

That's what those NRA Nazis try and say to reduce gun crime and accidents.  That's not the we cause we all know education about something dangerous doesnt actually work.  The only way to keep people from accidently shooting themselves is to leave people completly in the dark about fire arms and just ban them all.  Yup that's it....the NRA Is evil with all their safety education.

[Sarcasm off]

1.  Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
2.  Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
3.  Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
4.  Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire

Yup the 4 USMC basic rifle safety rules.  They do you well.

Thanks for the post Dago.  I allways enjoy reading them.

listen up you pathetic little know-it-all prettythanghole

The child who died was the son of friends of my parents.  It was a tragic accident caused by a combination of errors, mostly contributed by the youngest son (trying to help his older brother) mistakenly putting a live shell instead of a grease shell.  He dropped the gun by mistake and was fatally wounded.

It had nothing to do with numbers or anything other than the lack of some supervision.  If you grew up in the "Northeast Kingdom" as Orleans County and Essex County are known as, you might just understand a bit more why the supervision was not there.  If you had lived in Lowell, and seen the lifestyle, you'd keep your friggin mouth shut.

So, seeming that this death is so *****g funny and here for your amusement, hows a bout you write the family and express how you find it hillarious...   I can provide the address, and you can be sure of a visit after it's received.

Quite honestly, I just always enjoyed reading the articles in "The Armed Citizen" and I think many others do, so I post them as a favor to those who enjoy them.  As to why I enjoy them, I suppose someone who studies human behavior could give all kinds of explanations, but I think some of us just like to hear about criminals getting theirs.

I don't post them to start gun control arguements, that is pretty much a useless arguement, so whats the point. Its been done to death already.
