It's a BBS habit. For work documents, I never do it.

I also do not use symbols like this: :)

I was referring to Hawklore's strange love affair with ellipses, not you.  Yours make sense.  :)

Hmmm... I don't think the type renders properly on HTML docs. Double spacing after the period is ignored as a rule.

Yeah, Sandman, you're right.  I appreciate this bulletin board but am not used to having to work so hard for the type to come out the way I type it.

It was an interesting example as typed and showed the difference before it was submitted and truncated to one space.

You snared my attempted example before I realized what happened and deleted it.

Have to admit that for personal writing I still type two spaces after periods and colons.  I think the extra white space makes easier reading.

For me, it depends on the font. Sometimes, the added space makes it harder to read.

...and then there are the people that use two spaces AND center justify the text. It's a pain in the bellybutton to read.

Yes, I know, but I learned on a brother HR-1 letter-quality daisywheel printer.  So I double-space by instinct.  I try to stop it, but I usually end up doing a "search and replace" before printing a final version.

What really irks me isn't any spacing issue...it is silly spellcheckers.  I had one at work that seemed to think the correct spelling of the word "colour" was "color".  It was a real pain to go back and replace it with the correct spelling.

No idea why it thought that was the correct way to spell that word.....it's fixed now, but...weird.

If you see it again, check what region the WP is installed for. They tend to default to English (US), so you get our spelling. :)
