Whether or not you get your butt kicked for getting the orders out late depends on WHO you are, or something...

It appears to me that there is not a consistent policy being applied.

You really believe that?

If so I will be happy to post the “history” of why the BOP were dropped from the Friday Squad Operations and why I hope they can return some day. Or we can just drop it here.

Your call.

Shubie:

For the record the 412th messed orders up in the past before and were dropped from FSO for 6 months.   No fun.

We probably would have been dropped again if we didn't get the orders out by last night.

And we can discuss it, rather than being the recipeints of a somewhat tyrannical, one-person-gets-to-decide kangaroo court.

And we will get BOTH sides out, especially the part about the "previous problem", where you'd better check your facts carefully.

Don't get me wrong--I think you do an adequate job organizing squad ops.  But you assume too much, leave too much gray area in your communications, and should check yourself before opening up.  And frankly, "maybe we will let you come back in a few months" is rather patronizing, don't you think?  What's the sentence?  Six months?  Six years?  Who gets to decide?

Tyrannical one person kangaroo court? Sounds more like when I am at home dealing with my kids. I will let the other CM’s put in their two cents on how tyrannical I am.

Who gets to decide?
I do as team lead of Squad Operations, but I bounce ideas/decisions on team all the time.

In April 04 there was some confusion on responsibilities.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115108

In April 04 no one received orders till they were in the Arena Friday night.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115414

Then of course this month I had posted the sides and in it listed you as the Frame C.O. on Sunday the 27th.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144266

This was followed up by an e-mail reminder to you and your X.O. havoc. Problem was his e-mail has been bouncing for months and we have told you this several times.

Finally on Thursday the day before the frame I posted this after sending out a 2nd e-mail reminder.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144663

Thursday evening I made several phone calls to find someone to do your orders. After that I decided to remove you and your squad from Squad Operations. Other CM’s in the tyrannical kangaroo court agreed.

The rules for Squad Operations have remained essentially unchanged for several years. They are quite clear on responsibilities.
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/registeruser_fri.php

Under 6. Responsibilities:
- When it is that pilots turn to be a Frame C.O. in Squad Operations and he is unable, then the squadron must find a replacement or risk being removed from Squad Operations.
- Squad C.O.'s and X.O.'s are expected to keep up with the Squad Operations forum and current happenings of Squad Operations.

As I mentioned before if you had a working X.O. e-mail none of this would have happened. Your X.O. “havoc” (or former X.O.) e-mail has been bouncing for about 4 months. I have and others have asked you to fix it and put in another valid e-mail for someone in your squad.  Had this been done none of this would have happened.

Under 6. Responsibilities:
- Provide two valid contacts for their squad. Usually a C.O. and X.O. e-mail address.
Under 7. Penalties:
- If any of the above rules is abused, squadron may be asked to leave the series.

I am not sure where you read “maybe we will let you come back in a few months”? As to who gets to decide, that would be the tyrannical kangaroo court again.

I will end this with what I e-mailed you when all this came down.

Hi Shubie,

I feel bad this happened, but I have to stick with the rules. For now you and your squad will be out of Squad Operations. I feel strongly about this for several reasons.

1- I have asked for a 2nd contact within your squad several times.
2 - I have posted on the Squad Ops BB about the e-mails that bounced. Havoc was one.
3 - I have reminded squads many times the importance of having 2 good contacts within a squad.
4 - This is not the first time others have had to do the Frame C.O. orders for you.
5 - We came >< this close to canceling an event for 200 players that plan their evening around Squad Operations.

It is more than a game, but a hobby for many. We have to have reliable squads in Squad Operations.

I have really enjoyed having your squad in Squad Operations and I look forward to when you return. For what it is worth we have let other squads go before for the exact same reason. The good news is they have always come back and always have 2 good e-mail contacts within their squad and it is never been a problem before. Some times the C.O. is never the contact, but two other regular squadies that are not on the road so much. Food for thought for you and your squad. I "really" hope to see you and your squad with us again in a few months.

Sincerely,

James "daddog" Glazier
I don’t see anything patronizing about it, but if I worded it poorly and you took it that way I apologize. That was not my intention.
As for how long, that would be up to the tyrannical kangaroo court again.

Bottom line is I feel bad that your squad was removed from Squad Operations. I think if you reread my e-mail above it will reflect that. I am sorry it happened and I did my best with what time I have to insure this kind of thing does not happen, but I will not take a chance on putting 200 plus players on hold. That is a lot of people that schedule their night around our event and it is the responsibility of the two Frame C.O.’s to make sure it happens.
