Hey 73, tell 82 that I live about 10 miles from him. That makes 4 AH subscribers within about a 20 mile radius here. I think I smell a mini-con/drink-a-thon comin on :D

Is there a way for a downed pilot to jump on the back of a GV for the gunner seat (friendly of course) without having the ditched, killed, whatever message?

No.  The only way to join a GV as a gunner is to use the "join" request, and I dont think it will work from anywhere other than the tower.

Ok thanks.

That would be a cool feature if a squaddie or another countryman would be able to pick you up in an M3 or whatever on the way to the town.

Got my tail shot off at chasin planes around by a manned ack.
Bailed low, ran over  and popped manned ack like 8 times it popped. Bailed over town to kill troops also.

bailed out on a hill next to an osti - the guy that made me bailout.
I walked down hill to the osti and fired into the turret from above and took out the main gun. he ditched and I got a kill. bail out and you might be able to extract a bit of revenge.

Yup.

The whole ground aspect of the pilot is pretty weak.

Esp if you've played any of the BF games 1942 or Nam. It is flat out fun to bail out near an enemy base as a sniper and pick em off with head shots... and those guys dont look like gumby walking with a stick up his sphincter preventing his legs from moving.

I'm not a programer and I don't play one on TV, so I cant comment on what a huge task it might be to get some BF "like" ground fighting into this game engine.

Used it successfully one time when I bailed to defend a base. Shot most of the troops in the air, and then waited near the map room to shoot the next batch that showed up.

You squeeze the trigger ;)

(I suppose you have to map it in in the joystick/keyboard mapper)

I'm no expert, so can someone let me know how many pilots in ww2 took a sniper rifle with them.
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."
