I wonder what the protocol is for duplicate aircraft submissions.

I noticed the supercharger intake needs some exhaust stains underneath it, and I can edit the text to reflect the correct bavarian slang if needed.

I have to second that...

Great skin BUT the plane lines are way way way too thick.

If you have em at 1pt you need to lower the opticity or transparency of that layer. Atm it looks like a lego plane.

Are you refering to the ones on the fuselage or the wings or both? I ask becuase I used a different technique on them. The ones on the fuse have a little too much (too opaque actually) "dirt" streaks applied to the existing panel lines. The ones on the wings look okay to me utill you are inside the plane looking out, that's why I posted the interior view. The ones on the wings are the same as the fuse minus much of the dirt, maybe I'll try to lighten them all up a bit and see what happens.

I'll be happy to tweak this in any way that the community or HTC decides to be appropriate, but not unless it gets the nod. I'm still dissapointed that our BBS method (the "sticky" at the top of this forum)  for avoiding having two skinners working on the same plane failed to prevent it from happening. These things take a lot of time and no matter which skin gets approved somebody has wasted a lot of it.:(

Edbert TY sir!!!

i will agree though, the panel lines especially on the front of the fuselage are a bit to "strong" or thick.

i'd say cut down on the rivet visibility a bit on it too, but that's just my opinion.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Edbert, since almost all of the p51Ds are 90% identical, and seeing that we have 2 different versions of the same shark's-mouth F6F already in the game, and seeing that MANY skins are nearly identical (or even identical in some cases) I don't think it'll be a problem.

Chances are they'll accept both, is my guess.

We have a protocol for duplicate submissions.

The best looking one wins.

This is why it is important for skinners to make a post about what they are working on.  And, of course, equally important for someone starting or wanting to do a skin to check this forum beforehand.

If someone notify's that they are submitting, and the other person does not...

shouldnt the person that notify's get their skin added?

Edbert

Its mainly the fuselage the lines are so thick and visible that the entire plane looks "painted" you know cartoonish. I kind of get an Il-2 feel when watching it and my main problem with Il-2 graphics is that they look "painted and cartoonish".

The bottom of the wings look really really good while the top side of the wings have a bit same problem as the fueselage.

I dont mean to be a wet rug and dont want to sound arrogant because I couldnt skiin my way out of a paperbag. But I can say what looks good in my eyes and what doesnt. ;)

Another thing that could be improved is the wathering on the back of the cockpit and inside of the wings... looks too obviously airbrushed... softing it down a bit would be nice..

Very good choise of skin as the scheme is awsome.

I only speak for myself but I never ignore advice, I may not follow it but only a fool refuses to listen to it. I appreciate all the advice I get, particularly when it is constructive. The comments like "you suck" don't happen here very much but those I DO ignore :D

Furby, duplicates happen.  We have to pick and the best one will win.  We owe it to the skinner and to the community to put the best work available into the game.

It is not a personal thing and I hope the skinners realize that.  When someone raises the bar it causes a nice trickle effect and everyone does better.  No one loses.  We just have to make a choice.

Other than the minor details others mentioned, I have nothing further to add other than:

Jeng!  (or Zheng!)

i.e. right on! in Cantonese.  Nice job on the skin Edbert!
