i have never played soccer for a team only in gym class at school. I did go to one of my schools games and some kid got kicked in the face and had to leave in an ambulance blood everywhere that was pretty cool. Our team always got into fights and one time one of our players through his shoe at another player.

I guess i just think it lacks contact. Furball neer saw the euro league. I did watch the USA womans team beat everyone up though that was good fun to watch. Who is the 14 year old superstud soccer player? What team does he play for? i think it would be fun to watch a 14 year old run around older players.

Never heard of a 14 year old professional player. I don't think women's football is very representative of the sport as a whole.

I think you should watch game like Milan vs Liverpool, maybe then you can understand what it's all about.

When bad teams play, game is bad, regardless of the score.

Yet, in soccer there are quite few great and exciting games that end in 0:0 score.

Megadud, maybe you can tell me some differences (besides the use of sticks and the surface) between football and hockey.

Both have a goalie guarding a goal at either end of the playing surface, both can end in ties, both have typical scores of 1 - 0 or maybe 3 - 2... In both the object is to pass the ball/puck into a position that could allow for a shot on goal while defending against that same thing by the opposing team...

I would think if one loved one of these sports, he could at least appreciate the other.

Well, in hockey they let them fight until somebody is off their feet. Once a guy hits the ground, damage can actually be done since they're not sliding around, and the referees jump in and pull them apart. Finally, they get punished by waiting 3 minutes in a small box while their team plays down 4 vs 5.

In soccer, fighting (I geuss due to the lack of pads) is rewarded with player ejection and sometimes multiple game suspensions.

Instead of direct & indirect kicks you get face offs. Penalty kicks ... I dunno wtf you'd call it in hockey but they're both 1 vs 1 against the goalie.

Other than that, they're not much different. Even some of the rules (offsides) are similar.

soccer is a way for people who's countries are very socialist and repressive... a way for those people to let loose and kill each other in an orgy of rioting.   A way to get back to their human side.

the fact that it is so boring to watch allows fans to get even angrier.

The soccer field is too big, and hockey is faster paced. they have fights and checks (someone smashes into another player to get him away from puck) and the stick handling ismore interesting then a guy kicking a ball. I would rather watch a nice looking hockey goal rather then a nice looking soccer goals. I don't hate soccer i just don't think it is as exciting as any other sport there is.

lol lazs2 your right....

So is it the same reason americans riot when their team loses playing american football?

in 32 years alive i have never seen a riot when a football team loses.

i have seen huge celebrations when winning the superbowl, though mainly it is getting piss poor drunk, and going "WOOOO HOOOO" down whatever main street the rest of the people are.
I don't know what to put here yet.

American football is more entertaining, and yet its spreading across the world.  Especially its hitting Europe and Canada with them having their own American football leagues.

Soccer? Football you mean ( a game played with the feet! ) Is loved and followed the world over. Its a true world championship. Unlike many other sports which claim to be world series or whatever. To not understand that and accept that if this is the case there might just be something beatifull about the game is a bit like being the odd kid in the playground who refuses to like something just because everyone else does!

And that about sums it up for me.
