well the 3 guys complaining last night avg about anywhere from 64% of fighter kills in la7 and niki to atleast 35%. But here they are on 200 complaining that others who fly la7 and niki are either dweebs or newbies.

What I like to do when guy complains about la7 i go chk his score  9 out of ten he will be a la7 and niki pilot......... come back in tell them thier flying la7   and watch them try to lie say only once awhile or hardly ever ............................g ot to love this GAME

38J had nose mounted guns. They dont have convergance issues. I can see them hitting at 800, and when im flying it, Im only firing 50cals at 800. Just to make the bogey get scared and turn I dont fire cannons till someone is close range 400 to me, and I know im gonna hit.

I've been playing long enough to know that 90 percent of the time I die, its not because the other guy was flying a better plane than me, he's just a better more experienced pilot than me. In reality when you break it all down, its not the plane that gets the kill, its the pilot. Heck I could fly around all day in a 262 and not even come close to a 2 to 1 k/d ratio. Whenever I die, its because I made a mistake or the other guy just out flew me most ( 90 percent ) of the time. Theres the occasional time that some shmuck rams me or something like that, yeah I get mad, but I don't go on ch 200 typing dweeb and ho and stuff like that, I just assume the guy either messed up or he is new. Of coarse Im allot nicer to the newer guys than allot of some of the other players are... I like newbies because I can actually shoot them down lol. I think if everybody would go back and think of how confused they were when they 1st started they would cut some of these guys some slack, heck when I fisrt started I couldn't get the vbox to work, had no clue about what any of these planes were or were good at. I just basically had no clue, but 6 months later I can tell u any loadout on any plane, tell you which one is fater at say 10,000 ft, which one can climb, what type of convergance to use, everything... And I know I picked everything up alllot quicker than most newbies do because I had some experience with these type games. Just remember everybody was a newbie or dweeb at one point or another, cut the guys some slack

same way here Jet, I just do it to piss em off at that range, try and get em to turn or start jinking, anything to slow em down and make em messup... I'm a 400 D type person, of coarse I have watched Pellik scratch em at 1000 plenty of times... so it can be done lol

They weren't much of a threat in AW, and from what I've seen here so far, they're just a nuisance.  If you know they're there, when almost in guns range, jink a bit and they blow right by.  They're too fast to cause a real problem :)

... because there's not much the average MA plane can do against a LA7 when it's flown by a half descent stick. If you don't know that, you probably don't fly a P47 much.
Dat jugs bro.

Reason #'s are skewed in favor of more experience pilot is because its a noobs choice plane being that it out performs 90% of the other a/c.  And noobs are ez kills no matter what they are in. Once you learn to stay above it or behind, then its just another target.

i once killed a F4U4 in a P40B does that mean that we should not perk the F4U4 because the stick behide it was no good?

we should base it on the plane not whos behide the stick
known as Arctic in the main

Now you're begin to understand it has nothing to do with the planes. This type of flight sim has been around in some form for tha past 17 years or so. During that time people have come and gone. One thing that hasn't changed is the learning curve is very high for this game. One thing that has changed is the actual numbers in an arena. Combine the two of these parts and you will find an very difficult flight environment.

To go a little more in depth you will find most of the whines about perking planes are from those that are about half way along the steep learning curve. They haven't quite figured out just how to chase down a laffie or other plane but they have come along enough so they can get some kills every once in a while if they can get into a fight.

Then you have the noob's in the laffies, etc. In the old days we called this kind of player an alt monkey or sputnik. Back then they were typically flying high mustangs. Some folks called them runstangs. Some were just that but what alot of folks didn't understand was you need a little turning room to fight. Evenually they began to differentiate between the two because if a pony reversed or you and ate your lunch...well you know the rest.
The noob, on the other hand, has tried every possible thing he's learned to that point and thinks "hey, if I stay high and fast I won't get killed, maybe." They even make a high speed pass on someone, every once in a while, if they think they might get away with it. But, they know if they turn into the fight they died.

IMHO it's a training issue.  If 25% of the players have been around and learned how to fight, and 50% of the players are now in that middle group who can fly some and get kills from time to time, and the last 25% are the noob's who are just trying to stay alive and not all that worried about kills right now, then you could have 40-50% of all flyers thinking the same two thoughts....
1) how can I stay alive and maybe one day land a kill
2) how can I catch that laffie in my spit. Everything I try doesn't work.

Unfortunately, the 40% group thinks they are good enough to do anything and just don't understand they still need to learn. Will they get the training? Not if they don't look for it and probably not because they think they're good enough.

The 25% of older guys who've flown for a long time could care less what plane they see in the arena. If the guys is withn range and wants to fight they are happy to oblige. If not, there are a lot molk folks who do want to fight.

As you can see it has nothing to do with the planes but this topic will surface again and again because of the frustation.

Unless Pellik or another really good pilot that have good sniping skills. I only use it to vulch and shoot bombers, sometimes use it just to mess with the enemy but cant really do much as far as A to A combat, but have seen good pilots get allot of kills in them only shooting 2-3 rounds per kill

When I had just signed up on here ( few months back) I asked the usual question on here RE: best plane to learn in.
The overall response was one of the spits, I got really frustrated flying it as I was killed on a regular basis while folks just zipped by in the more sexier planes (Still am getting killed on a regular basis lol).
Only now am I beginning to learn the basics, of turning and SA etc, I honestly  think that if I had started of in an La7 that it would have done me no good.

I have tried the la7, niki and all the rest, but still think the spit has more to offer newbs like me in terms of learning the basic acm stuff. If all you learn is dive, climb and run away then you are not getting the most out of AH.
The la7 is a great plane in the right hands, but guys like me will be toast in one of those things in a straight fight as I don't know how to fly it.

All I do is try my best and have some fun.
Cheers guys
Big G

This is total and utter BS.  A well flown 262 can kill anything it wants whether they see it or not.
