Fubar... in what way were the P51's and P47's messed up in your opinion? Reason I ask is that I haven't tested them yet and would be interesting to hear why they are no badly modelled.

Is it graphic wise or something else?

Clip, do you have a software firewall? You might have to allow AH to access internet again after updating to 2.04.

Where this plane is saposed to be "NASTY" does me no good. 20K+ is rediculous. Big deal.

If it did 800mph at 40k I still would fly it no higher than 10k.

TO me its a slower, fatter, P51.

Slower, fatter P51 maybe Morpheus. Turns great, rolls nicely specially up high and has a superb acceleration. It's also capable of carrying heavy loadouts and it's got a radial engine, meaning no anoying radiator shots. 8x50 cal with 3400 rounds. SUPERB RANGE! 50% fuel keeps you flying for 30 minutes in the MA. Add a DT to that which you drop when you engage in a fight and you got a very maneuverable plane.

The climb rate not great about 1k to 1 1/2k per minute. about the same as a B26. Seems to handle better than other 47s. and it can dive to at least 540mph and still stay in control.  Top speed low 15k or lower is not great but at 30 k its suppose to do 470mph. Trouble  is it might take u 30 minutes to get to 30k.The eight 50s like all the 47s makes a big difference compaired to 6 50 set ups of others and can kill almost as quick as a twin 20mm plane. The roll rate is also seems improved. It also can carry more fuel so u should never have to carry a full load of fuel.  If u like 47s you will like this plane.  Acceleration seems to be like all 47s. (slow unless diving)It might be faster but felt like the others to me. It can carry the same bomb load as 47/40.

I know you've already read and done this....just a refresher for those who haven't that might help....
Aces High II Version 2.04

NOTE:_ AH2 requires DirectX 9._ If you are using an older version of DirectX, you will need to upgrade._ Go to http://www.microsoft.com/directx to update.

AHII will encounter problems and graphic anomolies when using out of date video drivers._ Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer to get the latest  drivers for your graphics card.

AHII will automatically download custom plane and vehicle skins while you are in the game._ The first time you encounter a new skin, you may get a momentary stutter as a new cache file is generated for that skin._ Once the file is generated, you should no longer experience a stutter for that particular skin._

If you experience stutters caused by sounds being played in the game, you may need to update your sound drivers and/or reduce your sound acceleration._ To reduce your sound acceleration, select Run from your start menu and type
"dxdiag" in the Open field._ This will launch the DirectX diagnostic program. Click on the Sound tab._ You will see a slider labeled Hardware Sound Acceleration Level._ Reduce this level to Standard acceleration._ Further reduction may be necessary if the problem remains.

_For further help please see the help file, visit our message boards at

or call us at 817-251-1540 9am-6pm CDT Monday through Friday.

This might be a good beginning point for your crashes...

I see the P-47N becoming an arena favorite if only for fuel duration alone.  That thing can carry a TON without having to use hardpoints for drop tanks.  Plus it dives like a beast and can hold up to 3200 rounds of .50s.  Oy vey.  It's a pretty nice package.

Actually it's a pretty good bird vs the pony...I didnt lose a single fight to a pony (all on the deck) last night. Obviously alot of variables come into play but it'll certainly hold its own even right on the deck vs pony....

What did you do to it?  Test it with full fuel, 2,500lbs of bombs, 10 rockets and your gear and flaps down?

With 50% fuel it was climbing about 3000fpm at 10,000ft for me.

ok 326w/o wep 364 with wep sea level 8 guns heavy ammo no ords

    359 ---------- 400 10k

    375----------- 419 15k

Test off line started with 50 % fuel

climb rate eariler was with 75 % fuel and 10 rockets and 1 drop tank.

Just saying with wep its awesome. but without wep just a p 47
took it up with rockets and 2 1 k bombs climb rate a little over 1k
  no wep.
