what if you add that switch....?lol I know some people have had problems with, and then others have problems without it......

oh and does your OS show two CPU's?

Using X2 4400 and 6800GT without the spinning clipboard problem.
Only difference I am using the nVidia Beta 80 drivers.
No sign of the switch in the boot.ini field, then again I don't use cool 'n' quiet. (turned off in BIOS).

Link for Beta 80's is on the omegadrivers site in the forums.

Edit - Direct link to Beta 80.40.s http://www.3dchipset.com/drivers/nvidia/beta/

I tried the 7.8.0.3 drivers which just came out and am having the same problem.

Kev, are you still running the above?

Basically it often locks up as the first slash screen comes up but sometimes makes into the game.   When it makes it into the game it will lock up within 1 min or so with the screen turning a few shades darker and the clipboard spinning backwards like Overlags screenshot.

Kev,

I followed your link and downloaded the win-x64-7750 driver set which I assume is what you are talking about.  When I did it, I ended up with 800x600 4 bit max only.  Am I missing something?

Sounds like the drivers didn't install properly.

I tried and retried cleaning the drivers and reinstalling.  I get the same funky results with those drivers.  All of the rest work fine.  Guess I'm out of luck.  Ironically, I upgraded my machine for AH and now it won't run at all.

I have exactly the same problem that rabbitdrabbit has.

Game usually locks up when the first splashscreen comes up.

AMD X2 4400
Shuttle SN25P Barebone
WinXp64
XFX 6800GT 256M with Beta 80 drivers

And I dont have usepmtimer parameter in boot.ini.

One reason to system update was poor AH performance with my old system with PCI based 5200fx, but now it wont work at all...

Any news on this issue?

I'd like to hear something as well... I'm within a few hours of buying a new system and this is pushing me towards a ATI vid card, even tho I'd rather go SLI.

I'm not sure exactly what systems this kills but it seems to be x2 processors with 6800 vid cards.  Strangely, it does not seem to effect any other game or app I have, just AH.  Still no resolution process from HTC beyond this thread.  It does it on all of the 7 drivers I tried on win 2003 and xp64.

You try to visit the site TOM'S HARDWARE .- There are critiques
of the last technologies computers understood tests.- You will also have an orientation of what combining are more conveninient for the game type AH.- The components of a computers must the assembled so that not to create necks of bottle and conflicts.- mTherefore read well you tests and compatibility,adaptability.- Remembered you that a computer after six months it is old.-

Looks like an XP64 problem, although I ran earlier versions of AH2 on XP64 Betas without a prob.
So may be something that has been changed in AH2.

Works great on Win 2000.

We give a speech in parallel to understand us and to show that sometimes the run to the las discoveries doesn't pay.- If I have a hydralic pomp of 2000 liters/s and a of 500 in exit I put under effort the pomp, she heats and in little time she is damaged.-
This to show that with programs to 32 bit fed with a system 64 bit
he doesn't work well because the system he had to adapt.-
You have to have a hybrid system and as all system hybrid it is a compromise therefore the few steadiness to elaborate  in comparison to the drivers.- The decision to be taken is commensurate with the majority of the programs in commerce.-
(if they are written to 32 or 64 bit).- Today games written to 64 bit are nearly not existent while programs of writing the are (see Office).- I ignore if AH as been adjourned to 64  bitbut reading the matthers seems me unerstand that is negative.-
Keep in mind that AH is not (graphically speaking)a game that asks few resource,in fact, asks many power.-
Shortly:or be milk or be wine;milk and wine mixed it hurts to the stomach;) :)
