I have been taking screen shots of all my posts. This is not a complaint, it's just a statement.

I love HTC and I think they do a great job. I have been a customer for several years.

I was amazed at that information and wondered the same way as you are nash.  I have no answer for you except to say that I cannot believe things are as bad as the media at large seems to suggest.   Yes, the information from that hearing provided alot of anxiety for me but I always try to analyze all the available data into as large a picture as possible.

If things were really as bad as the average media spin on those statements suggests then the entire country (Iraq) would be in total chaos, I mean "50 million people screaming at the same time" kind of chaos, which is an earth moving thing, but I dont sense the earth moving anything like that...

I can only really believe that there is a ton of spin going down and the real truth must be very difficult to ascertain.

I do not think things are ever truly what the media portrays them to be -but I do believe the media provides a neccessary shade for the colour of our perspectives.

My perspective is probably more positive than yours on the subject of Iraq but I am certainly having my doubts about the outcome there.  I remain hopeful that the situation eventually becomes stable.

One thing comes clear to me as of late, Islam is having a war with itself right now.  Sunnis and Shiias are slaughtering each other at a frightening pace.

Maybe Canada could take the lead in the war , and the whole thing would be wrapped up nice and tidy in no time at all.:aok

Maybe the Canadians are smart enough not to have gotten into the war in the first place.

Or maybe their people would be smart enough not to shoot the effort to win in the foot every chance they got.

Not all the public, just the ones like you.  ;)

I really don't blame you, your opinon is yours. Thats what I love about America.  You and I obviously dissagree , and we debate it in the open, and the thought police isn't going to come after ethier of us. Yet.
I blame a political climate where the opposition party can say yes we need to go to war for the same reasons the President stated. Then they can sit back and snipe, and call him a liar to a fawning press that will play the same old crap over and over again until your head explodes.
I blame political leaders , and citizens , who are so zelious to have their way, and make their point, that they say anything or do anything. Even if it gives aid, comfort , and encouragement to the enemies of our troops over. A lot of liberials keep saying this is another Vietnam. If it's not their going to do everything in their power to try and make it one.

My own personal opinon is I wish we never went. I'd rather give Middle East Extremeist one warning. For every American you kill in the USA we'll kill 100 in the Middle East. By the way we'll do it without putting boots on the ground. We'll take your bellybutton out from a distance , and won't miss one quarter of Monday Football worrying about it.
However we did go , we are there.  It's also my opinon that since we are there. We ethier kick bellybutton and take names, with extreme prejudice.  Hunt down the problem and eliminate it.

I've had two sons serve in Iraq. Travis my oldest went in with the 4th Inf Division in April 2003. He served 12 months there. On the day he returned from Iraq in April 2004 we were notified his younger brother Thomas who had been in country since Jan 2004 with the 1st Cav Div had been wounded in Bahgdad. Thats a hell of homecoming. Our family was very lucky Thomas took shrapnel wounds from a morter shell , and was only lightly wounded in the left shoulder. The bad part was he had to stay over there and served 14 months in Iraq fighting in the Battle of Fallugia last year. He got home this past April a few scars but none the worse for the wear.

This doesn't make my opinon more important than yours by any means Sandman. However maybe you can understand my impaitence with people who want to belittle the effort over there.
:)

I wouldn't use the word smart without first stating the obvious caveat.  There is a large potentially militant muslim society within the organised affairs of canada.  There is fear that governs the people of canada that this parasite society will rebel with terror.

Its the same as in England and france but the UK still has some collective balls and puts up some resistance.

Oh... don't get me wrong. I absolutely believe that the men (and women) over there are doing everything in their power to achieve success. Unfortunately, I think that the administration gave them an impossible task.

I'm glad your kids are home safe. IMHO, every soldier we lose in Iraq is just one more too many.
