Anybody have any good info on what they used? its discussed a lot but nobody ever posts the #s.

Just curious.

Was very poor quality by the end of the war - down to like 83 or 86 octane if I remember right. I got some stuff around here somewhere - will see if I can find it.

Was never up to the quality of the US fuel 100+.

Thx, I was just curious. I asked about Russian fuel before, and wanted a comparison. I know it wasnt near 100 octane (IJ stuff).

IIRC it peaked at 87 octane. I don't think they reached 90+, but they may have. It declined considerably before the end.

The TAIC manual lists 87 and 92 octane as the major fuels.

No. But I do know the Japanese used bamboo stalks to make hydraulic lines in their Emily flying boats.
