My six year old son is becoming an AH addict. He is already flying fairly well in the TA, and he understands that people aren't perfect, as he has heard me slip up as well as others in the MA. We both play with or without the headphones.

It's only human to screw up. It's quite another matter to purposely include colorful metaphores in every sentence of speech and text, rely on the "it's only human" excuse, then expect others (young and old) to tune it out, turn it off, etc...

Something needs to be done about some of the things said ingame...my example.....windx called me a petophile on 200.....stuff like this dont belong ingame expecially when he dont even know me. there are some people that need to have something done about them and the things they say ingame. Things like this have no place in the game and thanks to him and his attempt to make me look bad i spent 30mins explaining what this ment to my 12yearold then had to explain how him saying this is beyond wrong. Its one thing to razz people its another to accuse them of being something that they are not and as utterly gross and as wrong as that. Something needs to be done because this stuff is getting outta hand.

They call 'em 'greifers' ..people who log into a game just to see how 'bad' they can be and get away with it.

I've heard all the excuses many times.. 'it's just a game' I would guess is the number one excuse.

The fact is .. how you present yourself will determine how you are treated, 'in-game' or in meatspace (real life for those who don't get that reference

People who want to be thought of as total jerks, uneducated, who cannot control their mouth much less anything else by all means can wade in and do their worst.

When I bother to take notice of them at all . . I usually ask 'em ..'do you enjoy playing this game?' .. because usually ..there is a way to get rid of them.. permanently.
All it takes is a little time .. any game I have ever played there has always been a way to ban an account.

-evil grin- ..The thing about those folks is .. they are invariably easy to setup for banning. They never know when to stop.
(I had one jerk lewdly proposition my wife in EQ ..with a GM standing right behind her ..it was .. er .. ok .. hilarious

Reporting to HTC does work. As someone said before just bring up your clipboard, right click on their name and report as you see fit. Sure they are not going to yank the carpet from a first time offender, but they will be warned. If they are repeat offenders (depending on the circumstances) they will close the account.

999, I have to apologize. I swore at you once. You did not hear me because it was in my brain, but it took me 3 months to earn the points to fly that Me-262.

Name and shame em. several ppl in this thread say well so and so did this the other night but i dont wanna name name....well your complaint/argument really has no weight if you dont name the offensive person.
i understand how you feel and agree with you actually but, we really need some names so we can properly ummm make a informed decision aoubt the issue >

While i agree with ya on this one WildCrd...I think HTC might frown on the eminent flame fest that may result by naming names.
Prolly best to make our formal complaint of individual offenders via the mentioned methods.
