My first, and hopefully LAST, experiance with DHL was an overnight delivery from 53 miles away that took 2 weeks to arrive. The freaking 3rd class mail is faster than DHL overnight.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN

DHL is better in Germany I think then over here, Biggest mistake I remember over there was I was working on a holiday sunday, and this pakage came in overnight, holiday, before 10am delivery to us. Only problem was it was a Berlin-Berlin parcel, and I worked in Hamburg.

The delivery systems for some of those companies can seem whacky. If i sent my neighbor a package UPS, it would likely be sent to Kentucky before coming all the way back to him. I think they send it to their main point and start from there.

Most packages for UPS go through Louisville, KY if they are air shipments. UNLESS they are shipping within your state/region. They then go through your regional/state hub. Here in Alabama all packages for overnight delivery go through Montgomery if they are outside your local area.
