1000 yards is ok for hideout/backup style small handguns, but for full size service auto sized guns (like my Glocks!), I prefer a little more room to challenge myself!  :D

LOL come on guys, some of the shooters will be old. Maybe not even able to see a target at 1000plus yards!

(hell I have never shot at anything past 150, I doubt I could hit a 1000 yard target)((I bet I could see it though))

Goob listed off most of the places we can shoot.

(you missed the dirtball range in Sal leandro, if it is still open, but it is small dirty and next to the dump. They also wont let you shoot anything but softnose ammo on the rifle range. The one upside for the place is no one shoots outside so you are your own rangemaster. Course the last time I was there is was falling down. If this is of interest I can find out if it is still around)

Ok so lets get a place chosen so we can start tossing around dates.

A: Chabot gun club Hayward.

B:Laguna Seca Rifle & Pistol Range, , Salinas,

C: Terra Vee Rod & Gun Club, Cupertino, ******* Note this is a private range,  we need to confirm we can shoot there without a member to get us in***********88

D: Los Altos Rod and Gun Club, Los Gatos, ((( I hear this place has a pit that you can shoot stuff like water jugs in, never shot there so not sure)))

E: Field Sports Park, County of Santa Clara Parks & Recreation, San Jose

F: The range in Dixon. (do not remember what it was called, but I liked the rifle range here, since there where no range masters it would be easier to check targets etc)

My preference is A, with F and D being my second and third choices

I will bring my Sig 220 .45ACP and my M1A .308/7.62 Nato with a bunch of ammo.

I vote for A b/c being in the southbay is a trek going way the hell up north.

Unless there is an outdoor range that is worth the trip.

Chabot Gun club looks to be the clear choice.

We will meet at:

http://www.chabotgunclub.com/

As for dates this will have to be a Saturday or Sunday thing. Obviously not this weekend because of the superbowl.

So these are next few non-superbowl weekends:

Feb: 11/12  - This one looks good to me!
Feb: 18/19
Feb: 25/26
March: 4/5

Chabot's weekend hours are:  9AM to 5PM
Cost is $14 per person

I'm thinking we meet later in the morning 11am or so shoot for a while and then go meet somewhere close to eat and drink and shoot some bull.

I would prefer a sundays, but can do either.

I would also prefer the 18/19 or 25/26 because it will give me a chance to get more .308 here.

I can do any weekend in Feb, except Feb 4-5 and March 4-5 b/c of parents comming to down.

Also, I don't have a gun or rifle, so is it enough just to buy ammo for someones spare?

Prefer Saturday's and I should be free the next few weekends. FYI on the Los Altos Gun Club range. It's the one I go to most of the time. They do have a 40yrd and 100yrd "tin can" range.  It's a nice range and the range officers really have their act together.
