I believe that the plane explodes at that point, you're thinking of a bailout if I'm correct.

usually I have to light those rice paper and bamboo crates up with cannon for a few secs and then the dang thing flies around on fire for a few minutes.

Weird thing I've seen is putting a bunch of hits into a guy, watch him fly off, and blows up a second or two later. No fire, no other apparent damage. Net lag? Pilot wounded and taking a second or two to die (I had that happen once, where I died before I could land)?

I'm frequently a victim of the pingless insta-death. Then again, I've done it once or twice, two (had a Tiffie in a vertical looping fight where we kept going front-quarter, and I snapped off a half-second shot, thought I missed, and when I pulled up and looked back to track his position saw his plane flying apart).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Karnak, IMHO the Hurri is the closest to a match to the Zeke in AH you can get( talking fighters). Depending on who the Zeke driver was, bagrat in the Hurri is a hard nut to crack.

I know it is, but the A6M5b holds too many of the cards over the Hurri II.  Just bleed the Hurri's E out and kill it.  Just be careful not to get smacked by the quad Hispanos.

I actually fear a Hurri I more than a Hurri II when in the A6M5.

Equally skilled pilots in those planes ... the Zeke pwns the Hurr.

Once the Zeke gets it flaps out, nothing can turn and/or stall with it ('cept another Zeke).

Oh yeah, Ho's are the great equalizer.  We don't need acm anymore. Just bigger guns. We should all HO.

If your opponent tries to HO you and you shoot him right in the spinner, You have just Ho'd your opponent.

Why are Ho's always the other guys fault?  Just call a spade a spade.

Ho or Ho not. There is no in between.

Yeah, HMk1 a lot more nimble then the HMk2C. And those 303s can hurt very much at close range.
But any a6m has a definite engine power advantage over the HMk1. Just try to rope the Hurr into an inverted position.

Ive never flown the Zeke much (just fought it a lot). Is it lighter/has stronger engine then the HMk2C?


Slapshot, im not so sure about the turn. IIRC, sustained the Zeke only has a 1 sec adv over the HMk1. And the Hurr hangs on its prop well, just dont get inverted.



PS: Equal pilots, the a6m5 is managable for a hurr1, the a6m2 almost impossible to get (same turn, better guns and better eng).

Cannon rounds frequently jammed in WWII, I'd love to see this brought to AH2.  Would force people to be creative, limit the "spray n pray".  But it won't.
