Individual, superlative AA gunners definately have a disproportionately profound impact on gameplay. Moreso than a single person could in any other piece of military hardware, per unit time in AH. I have on many, many, many occasions single-handedly thwarted and major offensive or 25+ plane raid with a Field-Gun/Ostwind. I can't tell you how many thousands of Rooks would have died, vulchers would have continued to vulch and land their kills or bases would have been captured if I weren't there. But, suffice it to say, the impact is very significant.
I'm going to be honest, I attempt make being a spiffy AA gunner fashionable on purpose. If a good number of people could approach a high level of efficiency with 37mm the fights in the MA would improve. There would be no casual CAP and vulch routine for hordes. Only a very determined, organized and focussed multi-dimensional offense would be capable of establishing a suffocating 'tight-cap' of a field. Fights would naturally push further from the fields, more defenders could safely up planes and furballs would ensue. I can make this happen in a limited way, 100 people like me on all 3 countries could make it happen everywhere all the time. This is my dream...A furball Utopia.
