How is the Main Arena connection for you?

Boxboy,

I see you are in Tucson.  Maybe it is an Arizona thing.  I am down in Sierra Vista.  Last night I flew in the MA for the first time since the change and saw a bunch of "wierdness".  No discos fortunately, but had someone comment to me about "nice warp" and saw some warps.   I shot a YAK point blank with a K4, had parts slam into my plane (thought I collided)  and then the YAK just didn't exist anymore.  No kill credit, no falling plane, no explosion, it just ceased to exist as if it had never been there.

My other Tucson based Arizona squaddie and I could not agree on our DAR.  He would see my DAR counter over A10 and be looking to join up with me, I was flying over A53.

So I echo your comments.  I can't explain WHY.. only that it  IS.  And these are issues that didn't exist prior to the change.

You maybe right today it was MUCH better I think I only had 2 mini freezes and they were to be expected on my system with 100 guys in the furball.

So in the end I guess Skuzzy is right the internet is a VERY strange beast

Its only SINCE the move to the NEW SERVER. :cry
The server is physically the same server.  Identical.  It is just connected to a different ISP.

And you can completely disregard the amount of video ram being reported as used.  We discovered that number to not be reported correctly for many video cards/drivers.
When HT says freezes (we define a freeze as the game just stopping for some period of time, usually not recoverable without a reboot) do not have anything to do with the server connection, you can bet he knows what he is talking about as he wrote the code.

Now from a layman's POV nothing has changed on our end but something has changed on your end.  The next thing we hear from HTC is that it cannot be caused by the move to the new server because ping times are better.  Our refain is "it wasn't happening prior to the move".  On it goes round and round, but I have to tell ya that if it remains like it is now I will be unable to continue because the game at the moment is, for me, unplayable.
Who said ot cannot be the server because ping times are better?  The server is the same server.  Identical.  Phyiscally moved from one location to another.
Sure, net connects can be different.  it is to be exepcted.  How different?  We really cannot know until we try.  But game freezes, as we define them, cannot be caused by the network/Internet.  HT wrote the code, he would know.
We cannot make a decision on any ISP in a matter of days.  At any given time of the day, there is always something wrong on the Internet.  You can take that to the bank.
It is prudent to give a different ISP some time to see how they respond to problems, and see if the problems (if any) are chronic.

My connection was hovering around 92 to 121. It now runs as low as 83. I would say much better.

Ping the same, 60 to 70. However,  my frame rate went from approx 45 to 60.  Improvement for me, but don't know if the change had anything to do with this.

I know I have already posted and it is better but on ATT every night at about 8 or 9 pm Mountain time I would get nasty lag, my net status looked like a comb and vox.. welll I could hear every other word from my squad. This was real bad on squad night.   So far I can hold a fairly steady line on the net status and no vox loss.   ThndrEgg had done a ping plot (we live 500 ft apart) and for the first time in our AH history all jumps come up green most of the time. Amazing for our anciant dial up connections out here in the desert. :)

All I can say is I really really reallly hope you guys go with this new ISP.
From the ashes of the old we rise to fly again. Behold The Phoenix Wing!

Frame rates went UP today from 48 to 75. Lost Vox once today, that was reg occurance with other ISP though. So far so good!

My only request is to remove the trees located right at the end of runways, which is not really related here, but I know youll read it here. Thanks.
