At V-Bases, any concrete is OK, with the exception of the strip from the tower. Lost more than a few Panzers and Tigers on that little bit of coding.
The entire airfield is one tile. It should allow for a successful landing anywhere on it. Or at least give a "You have landed" and dock the points if there are any if it is off the runway. But it makes no sense that you can land on your field and get a "Ditch" but land out in the middle of no mans land away from any fighting and get a successful landing. More than once I have had my engine shot out and done a deadstick landing and ended up just off of the runway and lost everything. Great reward for getting my plane and myself back in one piece, but slam into the runway destroying my aircraft and you get a "Good Job, you landed successfully". DOH ! ! ! Great minds at work.
If you are on YOUR field, and live, it should give you a landing, not a ditch.
One side point, why the heck isn't their one lousy re-arm pad at a V-Base? After all, that is what they do at a V-Base. Re-arm and maintain Vehicles.
