Musta been a different time then Killnu.  All sorts of bombers and porkers from 14 tried and tried and less Rooks kept them at bay.  Certainly wasn't no 2 dar bars full of Rooks, more like half a dar bar, if that.

I understand you got your share of getting spanked too, heh.

I had a GREAT time tonight!
My thanks go out to the "Satan's Angels' for their
spirited fight.  Made it a blast!

And thanks to all the concentrated Knight
activity, we able to perform our best mission
yet.  We snagged the Knight zone base that was behind
the front lines and took it in a lightning strike.
Our quickest capture yet.  I even got 2 kills (no,
not vultches) during that raid! From initial contact
to capture was a mere 90 seconds. Outstanding! :aok

LCA...great job there on that cap!  A film of that operation
will be available for you to enjoy and study.  Just request a
copy on the forum and one will be sent to you.

We're getting more and more proficient at these
base capture missions but we can't slack off.
After all, we're being hunted now. ;)
Keep up the great work..and a heartfelt welcome to
our newest members tonight.  Welcome to the club!

----------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, back to tonights festivities...
I had an excellent time tonight both fighting and dying
(KillinU got me a few times ).

BTW, we deliberately went into that area because we
knew thet the 475th was operating there.  We wanted
them to enjoy their game tonight so we decided to
tangle with them and give them a little dogfighting
action.  It was fun!

But what I especially enjoyed was the zone base take.
In spite of the numbers being against us our guile and
daring prevailed! It will go down in our "memorable
mission" archives as one of our favorites.  :)

And things didn't stop there..we expanded our front
by several bases and sunk 2 of the Knight's carrier groups.
Not a bad night at all. Thanks to everyone who made it all
possible. :D

And to that one Knight pilot who asked me to have a private
duel with him...a big to you sir.  It was a good fight!
We will definitely have to have a rematch but this time in
the same plane to keep things even.

Good night all and God bless!

no Warp, was the same time...just that the one dar bar at 22 kept going down, then coming back up when the dar bar from 21 got there.  it kept cycling like that.

Caught 96Delta suicide vulching last night.  I had a long sortie and had no ammo no fuel and was trying to land when I saw an la7 coming over the base.  At first I thought he was porking troops or something as there were plenty of flying friendlies around for him to shoot at.  But, nonetheless,  indeed this la7 was just suicidally trying to kill a plane that was goona be or already on the ground.  I waved off my approach as the la7 boomed me and he missed so I turned again which was becoming difficult to do at 125mph or so.  He made I think 3 maybe 4 passes before he got me and was being hit by friendlies the whole time.  He went down right as I did.  Mind you that there was no furball over this base just the la7.   My question at first was why would someone fly and entire sector to suicidally try to get just a kill and then die?  What purpose does it serve other than to antagonize someone in a very gamey way!  Does it help to take the base?...........NO!   Does it help to keep down the enemy?.......NO!  Is this kind of behavior sponsored by a squad?......Would hope not!   96Delta was the la7 I was referring to earlier.  What a pathetic panty waste of leadership.:aok

I think HTC should lock both L.C.A. threads, they are pointless now & are only degenerating into "flame wars" I think is what the internet slang term for argueing & name calling is. At least 96 delta is staying civil about the whole thing. I don't like being outnumbered to the point it's hopeless; but I don't think it should swing the other way either. With so many folks joining the Knights to combat the L.C.A. it appears to be headed that way. On the other hand, buff hunting is a lot of fun & so is gunning fighters with a ball turret. I just hope this whole thing sorts itself out & common courtesy re-installs itself into the game. ( I too turned off ch.200 it gets moronic ) In short can't we all just get along while we are virtually killing each others cartoon vehicles & buildings....& scores :D

Wow SkyRock,

That was some post.

Now, here's what really happened.
BTW, testifying is what I do for a living,
for what its worth.

I think it was A17.
We were taking a beating at A26 (the Knight Zone base that we took)
from several neighboring Knight bases so I decided to fly
north to kill the Barracks and Ord to give us a little breathing
room at A26 so we could regroup.

I upped an LA-7 and proceeded to the target alone.
I killed the barracks and ord and started to egress outta there but
then I noticed something.

During my attack run I realized that none of the ack
was firing at me so I went back around to have a look see.
Sure enough, all the ack was down except for one 88mm
(that would be the soft gun battery) which I then destroyed.

Having no ack and no enemy fighters to worry about I decided
to loiter over the field hoping for some uppers.  The fighter hangars
were already down and I guess with the ord disabled no
bombers bothered to launch.  The VH was up and I was
surprised that no GV's upped.  I just figured that the base
had been abandoned. I began to orbit the base at about 3K.

When I arrived and during my time there I encountered
NO resistance. I was telling all the LCA's that 17 had been
abandoned and would be an easy take.   It met the criteria
of LCA Dicta #2 and I wanted the LCA to take the base
and advance our front to the north.

The LCA were busy elsewhere and couldn't mount a capture
attempt at A17. I was getting bored orbiting that deserted field
and was about to leave when I saw an F4U-1C Corsair at my
low 4 O'clock position on what looked like a landng approach.
So I engaged the enemy aircraft.  I'm sure that, had the roles
been reversed, I would have been pounced on as well.

When I dived I was going way too fast and the pilot,
having read Dicta-Boelcke, turned into me.  I made two more
passes on this Corsair and each time he employed the same
"turn into your opponent" manuever.  I missed on the first
2 passes but on my third swing I hit the ball and the plane
was 'outta here' and dead.

I didn't think to ask the pilot on Channel 200 whether the plane
had any fuel or ammo left.  I don't take inventory of the condition
of my adversaries aircraft before I attack. I'm too busy. My bad.

After the shootdown I scanned for enemy combatants
and noticed that alot of enemy aircraft were returning to A17
with a decided altitude and E advantage.  I was way over my
head and tried to evade and escape to no avail and was
shot down, suffering a horrible fate as I plummeted to
the ground in my burning hulk of a plane, unable to
bail out.  Hardly a suicide.

I'm not going to call you any names SkyRock.  I'm just going
to say that I'm disappointed at the stream of comments that
issued forth from your keyboard on channel 200.  We were
all commenting on it.  It was quite unfortunate and I'm sure
just reflected your passion at the moment and was not indicative
of your character.

Next time we meet I hope you shoot me down.
Maybe then you'll feel a little better.

BTW, I saw you land something like 9 kills later in the night
so I guess you receovered and got some payback.
Congratulations! :aok

Geez. Why haven't I thought of writing that down. Can you post the LCA "Dicta" for taking bases? It can't be that hard or that long and it might help enlighten the hatred on the LCA.

Well after reading this thread and the other one targeting the LCA i decided to weigh in with some thoughts.

1) if the LCA doesnt want to be hammered on bbs...stop posting in here.  this is probably the third thread i have seen.

2) stop hammering the LCA...except for posting their thoughts in here they are not unlike many numbers squads in here...when i first started it was the MAW.  they likely give a home to many new guys looking for a sesne of identity.  good for them.

3) while i dont think they changed much (i.e. rooks horded long b4 i knew of the LCA)...they have not made rookland more effective...however they have caused numbers to swap in a good way...thanks for helping balance numbers....made the game more fun.  (even if they swapped because they hate you guys =(

4)  I am the C.O. of a teeny squad called the Birds Of Prey....while we sometimes appear to be a horde I will point something out....we dont routinely gang a country...except on squad nites or nites when bish are close to reset...we tend to fly more for fun including furballing and buff/escort missions.  I hate hording a country into the dust..bad for the game.  it is good to have a large squad to be able to respond to enemy activity.  I wil also say that c.o.'s of large squads have a responsibility to help the newbs and teach them to have fun.  I am sad but also proud to say that there are many ex-BoPs in other sqauds that left after 1-2 years.  They still love the game...and im glad they stayed.

5)  Funny thing aboout many of the "fiter l33t" posting in here..they dont mind "hording" by overwhelming a base with fiters.  Some of the guys like to take....say...15 p38s and killing vh and ack and "furballing" planes on the ground.   i dont think im "crazy" when i challenge the "L33t: landed 15 kills in p38 of L33t pilot squad"  didnt get those in outnumbered furball.

hehe to continue...

6) trust me, even very respectable squads like "arabian knights" and others who are effective base sneakers have no desire to see equal enemy resistance up to meet them.  Their mission would fail.

7)  there is no problem getting a good fite in this arena.  Posta fiter sweep and go into a ganged base and have at it...great fun and you never have to rtb..you alredy there!!  your kills/hr can go up thru the roof!

8) here is a crazy thought....if you vulch a plane...no points or kill reward...lets watch the studs scores fall then....erm mine too :p

9) finally..make a map with 9 base FT and unkillable ack...give the fiters a chance to truly furball....then who cares what happens to ooutside bases

Well I had people who were knight that can verify exactly what I said.  As a matter of fact I was flying with a squad that had two members present at the base and at the time, one was landing and the other was shooting at you as you shot at me.  He hit you once before you got me.  If it were me I would have focused my attention to the bogey on my 6 instead of trying to vulch one last plane before death.  But, then again, this was my reason for posting at all.  I disagree with your tactics and leadership.  This is just a game, so I don't "really" worry about it.   Btw I had 12 air to air kills, no fuel, no ammo, two guns out,  and plane was shot to chit!  :aok

I'm pissed at the following:

1.) My old PC was killed over a month ago.

2.) In this "break" I have watched FRIENDS in Rookland go to other countries which pisses me off.  On one hand I would never want Zazzy to switch, but I can understand why.  On the other hand, he is helping even the MA numbers.  Now, more friends, the 475th have switched because of this chit.

3.) As CO of the CAF, upon return I will assess my goings on in the MA.  I will refuse to allow the killing of furballs in this manner.  I will do WHATEVER it takes to thwart this.  If I have to "enlist the aid of others" I will.

I'm too pissed to continue.

<> Zazen, 475th and any other's that have switched because of this BS.
