This looks promising. No word on pricing though.

If you want to "Modify this Wrangler", it will be tough.  This thing is getting bashed on most 4x4 forums because of this one thing.

I'm guessing there's nothing on the market currently. Is that the chief complaint?

DCX is making it hard for the "Aftermarket Companies" (Lifts, Engine Mods, etc).

It will be tough for the first 6 months but withen a year every major lift maker will have a lift for it

Since it JUST came out a few months back and none of the aftermarket companies have a test model since it is not up for sale yet,  it is just time a time thing.

Neg bud, not in this case.  A bunch of us have wondered why DCX would pull this sort of thing.  Actually, Rancho, RE, OME, and the others typically are AHEAD of the game in lifts for vehicles.  This time, they are "running into difficulties".

In 96 When the TJ came out they prolly had the same issues.   Right now the only New wraglers running around are press cars.  DCX is marketing the new vehicle, once the lift makers can get there hands on one the lifts will follow.

Lifts make take longer to develope anyway since the new version has stability controll, and the lift makers are going to have to make sure the lifts do not disable the system and will work with it.

Hell I could be wrong, but I can't see how they can design a lift for a vehicle that that most people have not seen other then the marketing photos. It would be idiocy and DCX's part to loan out one of the few press cars to lift makers at this point.

You underestimate the power of the Consumer wishing to install  "Aftermarket Parts".   DCX can only be HELPED by these companies, it is one of the reasons that the Wrangler is STILL AROUND.   I'm talking about Jeeps.  Their "Aftermarket Stance" is a VERY LARGE portion of the "Selling Ability".

As a person who has modified a wrangler and bought one to modify I understand the Market just fine.

All those companies want to make money off the new Wrangler, everyone is going to race to have a lift for it.  But right now the prototypes that jeep has made so far are press cars.

Whats more important, a  lift from Rancho or a really good review in car and driver or the JP magazine? The review is going to sell more Jeeps.

They need to promote the vehicle so it sells, and that's what jeep marking people are going to worry about. I think you are wrong about Jeep and DCX caring much about the aftermarket.   If they did DCX would be more warranty friendly after mods then they are.

They also do not need to be worried about it, all those after marker lift makers will have lifts eventualy cause they want a cut of that VERY competive market.

The only mistake DCX could make concerning the aftermarket is if they made it their policy that any mods void the warranty, and legaly I think they can not do this.
