Open letter to rooks....
« on: April 13, 2006, 11:10:57 PM »
I need to apologize for letting my beef with aStone get out of hand tonight on country channel. My behavior moved past persistance into "jerkdom" and I offer no justification; I should have shut up or gone private.

I am sorry if the discussion soured anyone's evening, though I hope you were able to and just give me a snicker.

No worries, Sim.  It's behavior like the other party's that should be apologized for, not yours.

Go on, take the money and run!

Seriously, there's sweetheartbags everywhere. Just squelch them. They thrive on the attention they receive, positive or not. Look at all the idiotic drivel they post in here, and in game. That's not derived from wit, nor from competence. That's just "LOOK AT ME" bull****.

Actually, 96, that dosent appear to be true. When I asked him why he offers money to have certain people leave rooks, even though they're good sticks and should be an asset to Rooks (obviously doesnt apply to me, but anyway...), he refused to answer on country channel. He asked me to go private with him, and in that PM conversation he said the following:

"Some good players arent good for the team, "  "are better off without them."

"A house divided against itself cannot stand...

"He who is not for us
(the loose cannons) is against us.....

"I am a reluctant leader; could it be that you are jealous?...

"If you hurt me, I will hurt you even more...."

I am not making up this B-movie dialogue. At no point did he even imply that his offer to pay his opponents to leave was anything buit serious.

I tried to pont out that HIS team  has done worse since his personlity and actions divisively affected the rooks, but he felt that it was better for the game. He just didnt see the internal contradiciton in believing "anyone who doesnt help us reset is working against the team" while HE was making it harder to win by driving good people away.

I've never had anything against the LCA concept or the people, with the single exception of taking down fighter towns  FH's and being proud of it.  I think missions are great, the game should absolutely be fun for all -- and there's no doubt that mission loving rooks are having more fun since LCA. Stone comes across as a nice guy, and I used to think he was jsut enthusiasitc about the part of the game he loves.

But anyone who cares so much about winning the reset that he is glad to see good PEOPLE go, who threatens to "hurt" a player in a GAME...has some issues with what matters in the real world. (He has almost NINETY HOURS of playtime, just 12 days into the tour.) The reset and the LCA seem to mean so much to him that I wonder if the PEOPLE outside his circle even matter.  He honestly sees the capture game as the only one worth playing, and he makes no apologies for driving off people who dont see things the same way...because its "good for the team in the long run."

I dont get it.
