Yeah, asked the wife last night...she said its where amateurs try out singing in front of a panel of judges.  "Reality TV" in a sorts. That's why I'd never heard of it, I hate reality TV and when I do have time to watch TV, its certainly not the crap NBC, ABC, or CBS puts out.

The people that make it through the initial stages usually have some awesome talent. I think they let the crappy singers linger for ratings.

I'd consider it talent if they actually wrote their own songs.  Do they do that yet, or is it still just a schmuck?

The show's simply retarded, and it, and shows like it, are a big part of the reason that American youth is going down the drain - fast.  They'd rather watch "Simple Life" "American Idol" or "Entertainment Tonight" then read a damn book once in awhile.

I'm not that smart of a guy, but when I'm in class and we've got a slide to read and copy down, I find myself waiting 3-4 minutes for much of the rest of the class to catch up, which is pathetic.

Kids that can't even name the continents or find D.C. on a map, but hey, ask them to name the contestents on "Flavor of Love" and they'll nail it.

Haha, I had no idea who "Flava Flave" actually was.  

My friend thought I lived under a rock or something.  He was actually laughing about the same thing you are.. he went to some Halloween party dressed as some famous guy (don't remember who), and his friend went with a big bellybutton clock hanging from his neck.  Some girl asked my friend who he was supposed to be, and didn't know who it was when he told her.  

But then she turned to his friend and went "I know who you are, you are Flava Flave!!"  Lol.
