This is excellent news...I only hope it is a major confidence booster to our men and women serving in harms way, to the Iraqi people, and to all the citizens of the coaliton hosting troops in Iraq....And to America =).....

I think I realize how my grandparents may have felt to a degree when Hitler took his life....This is the first time I have felt so jubilant, and rejoiced a persons death

I was very happy to see Iraqi's on the street, jubilant.. celebrating this dirtbags demise.

That the most encouraging thing I've seen yet.. evidence citizens here and there are on the same page, looking towards the same goal.. a Free Iraq for Iraqi's.

Damn good news, indeed.

ok...can we start drawing down the us troop levels?  I sense a possible shift here and we should take advantage of it.  Perhaps now with the coward monster dead and AQ in iraq clearly on the defensive (now more than ever), the iraqi guvmnt can now take a leading role in its own defense.  Just this day naming the last key minister positions to be filled in the permanent guvmnt.  Lets hope things finally begin to shift for the better.

Heres more of what Nick Bergs dad had to say about Bush today:
The guy clearly has an opinion.....

They played a clip on the radio of Nick Berg's father today while I was driving to lunch. He basically said he did not beleive that Zaqawi had anything to do with Nick's death, he said it was all a fabrication of the Bush administration. He then said that the Bush regime is a greater killer/rapist/toturer than Sadaam ever was...so much for his opinions on the world stage eh?

Interesting timing indeed...
1.) Today the USS Cole resumed active duty (Zarqawi was said to have planned that bombing).
2.) Today the new Iraqi gubment announced it had filled the position of defense minister.

Nick Berg's fathers opinions are no more valid that Cindy Sheehans.. and mine or yours.

A terroist murderer is dead.

Great!

Now, why would that be a trigger for reducing troop levels? Is the mission done?

Has the slaughter of Iraqi's ceased yet? Secular violence dissapated yet?

As said earlier...Is there any time thats better for killing Al Zaquari?(sp)....We could have gotten him any day of the year, and some whack off liberals would come up with some conspiracy correlating(sp) the day of his death to some event......

Way to go....I only hope this re insures confidence in our soldiers, the other soldiers of the coaliation, the iraqi people, and the American People...Although this will not end insurgency, I do hope this will give enough of a confidence boost to all partys involved to get the wrecking ball rolling....

way to go everyone

********THIS JUST IN...THIS JUST IN.....IT WASNT F-16's that dropped the bombs!....It was Chappy and some brit from the movie IRON EAGLE III.....They were seen flying a P-38 and a Spit XIV, with 1980's Hollywood glass cockpit, and laser guidance systems.........The forward air controllers consisted of a team of juvenilles, released from juvy hall to take part in this mission, drawn together by their bond in aviation....********

all joking aside, today is a day to be proud

I choose to question everything they do.. the media and the government are not 'here to help', they are not 'fair and balanced' and they do not give a rats bellybutton about a damn thing not closely associated with power or ratings.

I revel in the victory of Zaqarwi's execution. I question the interesting coincidences regarding locating him and killing him coinciding with Iranian interests in Iraq.

You may return to the Kool Aid dispenser. I don't care for the flavor of the season.

Now hold on a sec.

I don't disagree the govt and media are liars but the point I was trying to make was that instead of just saying "Yay we finally got him" you had to throw in some "Buts".

You know "Sure we got him BUT I think Iran helped in some way" and "Yes we finally killed him BUT even though I have no proof I still feel the press and the Govt are lying about something."

When your first response is "They are lying about something."  no matter what the news is I would say your the one with the kool aid addiction.

Very good news indeed. Hopefully the violence in Iraq will begin to slow down now and some other nutjob doesnt just step up and take this guys place.

My son has already served a full 1 year tour in Iraq and is scheduled to rotate back to Iraq in October. I dont think we will be downsizing our troop strength in Iraq just yet. Before that can happen the Iraqis have to be capable of providing their own security and I dont think they are there just yet.

If the violence does indeed slow down (and hopefully stop), US troops can concentrate on training the Iraqi Army and Police so we can leave sooner.

I think that's how Osama plays the game.  Good old "Z" was looking to take over turf from Osama.  He ordered the "hit" and we were the "hitman" in essence.

I'm glad he's gone, no question, and I like the fact that we took him for sure.

Wow, the force and accuracy of those bombs are amazing.

I woke up this morning at 4.15 am and saw that they said he was dead. Glad it's true!

Hope he's happy in hell.
