Im sick of all the laws we are subjected to...ever darn time you turn around there is a new law....Im afraid to spit on the side walk any more...might get a ticket!!
  Our goverment plays so many games....look what they did with smoking...they have bought alot of tabacco rights from farmers....they tax the hell out of tabacco cause our goverment does'nt want us to smoke!!!
    Did you all notice how gas prices fell below 2 dollars at x-mas time...another goverment game...boost consumer confidence so people spend more at the stores!!  then jack the price back up as soon a Christmas is over....don't tell me the goverment has nothing to do with gas prices!!

If they do the tracable ID card, and check points, you will bow because you will need it to go on with your life.

To realistically start a civil war against own's gouvernement, own's must have nothing to loose. Americans are too well indulged with their big screen TV, air conditioning, fancy cars, modern homes to give it all up in name of freedom.

I have no doubt that they want to and would get enraged by it, but how often have you eard "that's not right", and yet barely failed to follow up on a complaint, not even talking about loosing your house/car over it.

This answer is not a personal attack on any of this board member, nor against Americans, but rather a less glorious, more humanly realistic approach.

It is illegal to spit on the sidewalks in Texas.  Just FYI.  

Frenchy, I write letters all the time.  Then I get to a period where I get disgusted with the whole mess and stop for a while, then I pick it back up and start again.  Never been one to just mouth off about a problem, perceived or real.

Skuz, that's exactly what I'm talking about.

You write letters, which is already most than others, but when is the last time you said : "I'm not paying my taxes, all  IRS will get is a letter". You are not ready to have your house, furnitures, cars repossed.

I was talking with my GF just now about this subject. She was ready to march to the Whitehouse. All I had to say was: great, but while you march, you are not getting paid, how we going to pay the house & car payments? I you ready to live in a trailer for your convictions? She said :"No, I can't do that to the little girl, but it's ok, because my boss will still pay me". ... Yeah sure.

Last week I was talking with a 35 year old woman in a store about Iraq. Geez, she said, give me a gun and I'll go fight the war right now. Wishfull thinking, but how feasible is it? I'm sure she menat it, but she probably didn't realised what living in a APC without AC means, not even talking about a 250lb woman runing in the middle of a streetfight with human gutts flying all around her:p

Anyway, a freacking allah akbar 30 year old uneducated fanatic can strap a bomb and go blow the white house, most of us, who worked the last 20 years to have a house/car/TV/life would not blow themselve up for 72 virgins.

Taxes are an irritation, not worth the effort.

And you are right Frenchy.  I would not walk out of my job and lose everything for a cause.  Why?  Because no one else will.  One person cannot do a thing in this country.  10 cannot, 100 cannot, 1000 cannot.

However, if they try to tag me, I will fight.  I do not need to quit my job for that.

Agree that the Dems and Repubs have a strangle hold on our politics. How do we break that strangle hold though? I personally dont think you could ever get enough 3rd or 4th party Representatives and Senators to make a difference......thats assuming we could get a 3rd/4th party candidate elected in the first place.

I am finding it hard to believe that our Electoral College would vote for a president that isnt either a Democrat or Republican either.
