Out of all these responses, yours makes the most sense.  You are absolutely right, he can't reach through the monitor, noone can.  See this is the Intardnet, Morpheus could be anyone and you'd never know.  He could be your next door neighbor, he could be some collie molesting cross-dressing eskimo leper, or he could even be the secretary of defense, and again you'd never know.

Shades are a part of the Internet world.  If I want to change my name to something really stupid like mittens, I should be able to and noone can do anything about it.  Duplicate accounts are just more money for HTC, so who cares?

As for the people being mean to you, if you don't feel the report feature works, why not find a friend on their team to tell you where they go, then follow them around and take out your aggressions by killing them over and over?

You see, this (and this has been said many times) is indeed a GAME.  There are some things that are great, some that suck and the majority of all of these you can do nothing about.  If it gets too bad for you all to stomach, take solice in some pr0n.  =)

It is most definitely a GAME, and I understand that some often over look that.  People should be allowed to play how they want, but I believe that there are always limitations.

People get enjoyment from this game a variety of different ways.

Some people will only fly.
Some will only gv.
Some like both.

Some like to furball.
Some like to fight for the reset.

Some like to vulch or camp.

Blah blah blah...I am sure you get my point.

Another aspect of this game is the ranking system.  I know that a lot of the "elite" pilots say that rank doesn't mean anything and that is fine, its how they want to play.  Others do work hard to earn the top spots and thats great too, it's how they want to play.   However padding your stats to attain a higher rank by camping/vulching a shade account, your wifes account, brother, sister, squadie etc  goes beyond, imo, the limitations of playing the game however you would like.  To me this is cheating and is no different than the guy that wiggles his connection cord to induce warping. This takes away from the people who choose to play by the rules.

The response  "It's my $15 bucks and I'll play however want" is a load of crap and really shows the selfishness, lack of respect and the everybody owes me attitude, that seems to be social norm now.

On the other hand I see no problem with a guy who wants to have two paid accounts so he can fly anonomously on a different country, or with a different squad should he choose to do so.  This type of shade account doesn't really have anything to do with the current issues.

Right. There is no difference. None at all.

Im glad to know the new stance of the community is the more shade vulching rank dorks the better.

The only thing vulching a shades does is artificially inflate your stats, thereby giving you, assuming you're not screwing it up, a better rank.

Since neither your squad nor mine cares about rank, why does it bug you guys so much? Sure, it's stupid, and anyone who is that driven to be some uber ranktard has serious issues regarding their mental well-being, but does it really do anything to bother anyone else, or sour gameplay? There are a lot of guys who do almost nothing but vulch; do you punish them and their victims too? Afterall, they're doing nearly the same thing for the same reason.

Personally,  I D 10 T players who vulch/spawn camp a 2nd shade account  don't bother me 1 iota.......

but this post I quoted would!  why should myself or anyone for that matter have to constantly and continously vox squelch or  text squelch someone, because that someone turns into an I D 10 T lemming and decides to openly  cuss me in Text and voice , or tune to me in private and do the same,

People who do this should be banned for say 1 month or 3 months, without refund of the remaining time they have paid for in that month, and must continue to pay for the month or 2 or even 3 they are banned if they want to stay in the game, you do the crime you do your time and pay the fine!

regardless if they only do it 1 time or continously keep doing it, if they are banned/suspended say 3 times, then they should be permanently banned for life, regardless of what gameid they might use.

The IP address should be logged with the offender......this might clean up some of the rift raft lemmings that currently lurk in the game.......

and the same  rules should be applied to these message boards barring the O'club forum........

if you flame in a distasteful , hateful way for no apparent reason, then you should get the same treatment as I have suggested for the online game play.... this might get people to be more respectful instead of all the arrogant & ignorant post that keep filling up these boards just for the sack of posting!

ah, 1 can hope & dream at least!

When you think of who's good, do you think of who is ranked well, or do you judge by your experiences and observations?

Yeah, those mooks are wrecking the ranking and scoring, but it wasn't exactly a good indicator of anything to start with, except who's good at dull routines. If that's how they have fun, I'm glad. It keeps them out of my hair.

I think the idea of listing the people most killed and/or killed by in the score report is a good one. Second account abuse devalues the game IMO. IIRC Warbirds used to have this feature when HT ran it.
