I lost my mother last year and unless someone has gone through that they just don't know how it feels.

Let yourself cry it all out.  Try to be around people that are close to you.  And let your friends help you through this.  And most of all, remember the good times you had with her.

Hang in there.

Airbumba,  Sorry to here of your loss.

I did want to share the fact that my late Mother shared the same birthdate.  June 8th of 1934.   Also Once the kids were all grown up enough She too entered Nursing School.  (1968)  And had a very successful carreer.   Though she was born in Wisconsin,  Her father lived most of his life in Fort Sait John  B.C.   Not too far from Edmonton.

Your post made me think of my Mother and I want to thank you for that.  Its something you never really get over,  lossing a parent.   The thing is you dont really want to either.

It Sounds like your Mom was a great lady,  Thanks for sharing a bit of her story.

My prayers are with her and your family.

My prayers are with you and your family 'Bumba. From the sound of it, it looks like you can at least gain some peace from the fact that your Mother lived an incredible life and helped many people. And she was superior artist.

Sorry for the dealy in responding.

All I can say is , wow. I'm overwhelmed and humbled by the well wishes and kind words. I told my brothers Aviation lovers are the most tactfull and well rounded folks on the planet, and after reading the touching, supportive and heart felt reasponses given by the AH community, they had to agree. WTG AH'rs .

My brother will recover, how well, and to what extent, is yet to be seen, but undoubtedly your thoughts have helped and will continue to do so.

I want to say, if anyone had any doubts that the little world we call the AH community is only of a virtual nature, I just want to stand testament to the fact that my recent pain was all too real, and , thankfully, so were your supportive words. Behind each response was a living , breathing , person who took the time to both send supportive words and to share stories of their moms, that my friends is about as far away from virtual as u can get.

We have something special here friends, lets keep it that way.

Thank you all again for learning about my mom, you have made things all that much easier for me, hopefully not sounding selfish.

I wish all of you and your families all the best wishes of peace and caring, I can't thank you all enough, The biggest ever.

Andrew

Airbumba first.....my deepest sypathies and regards to you and your family.

Second.......congratulations!  You had the opportunity to have a wonderful Mother! You'll smile when you think of her.  Sorrow will fill your emotions also at times.  You'll marvel at what she accomplished.....and you'll thank the good Lord for the opportunity to have her as your mother.

Remember.....this is only temporary.  You'll be with her again some day.

So rejoice in her life and your good fortune as having the privilage to call her Mom.

Airbumba,
Me and the 56th give our deepest sympathies and prayers to you and your family during this time. Your mothers artwork is beautiful as i'm sure she was, the world will be the lesser with her gone.

Celebrate the times you had with her and remember in you she lives.

Clearly your Mom raised a very humble son.

She sounds like a wonderful Mom, coworker and friend.  And a gifted artist.

My condolences to you and your family.

I've gotta go visit my folks tomorrow, thanks for your suggestion  :)

Understatement of the year.

Bumba is one of the most pleasant and enjoyable people I've had the pleasure of flying the virtual skies with.

He is on a short list of people I'd enjoy meeting in person.
