This thread is funny. It demonstrates a basic fallacy that is repeated ad nauseam in all types of discussions (especially the O-Club).
The way people act/think/behave is never the problem, rather it is a given. Take a diverse group of people and their reactions/behaviors are predictable, a result of basic human nature. The only way to change our nature is to globally alter all human DNA to create a different animal. This does happen but has heretofore been very slow, a result of evolution. One can no sooner change the behavior of people than the frog could change the behavior of the scorpion. Logic, reasonableness, effectiveness are not the deciding factor.
You hear/read it all the time: The game would be better if people acted differently, the problems in our company would go away if the employees/customers changed their way, the solution to our national/regional/global problem is to get people to be different. Technically speaking : horse-huey.
The way to change circumstances involving humans is to alter the environment/circumstances/rules to which they are reacting. Period.
In the mean time (since I dont make the rules) Ill continue working on my global satellite system that beams DNA altering (aluminum foil penetrating) rays on everybody, thus solving all earths problems, creating a utopian world, making all of you behave the way I (in my immense wisdom and infallibility) deem proper.
I should be king,
