If by that you mean Canadian politics, then you're going to have to get waaaaay more specific. Check your facts, Nash.  You are either misinformed or spreading misinformation.  Gore did not get a majority of the vote.  Neither did Clinton - either time.  The last Democrat to be elected with a true majority of the vote was Carter (and wasn't THAT a stellar success. :rolleyes: ).  Reagan and the first Bush won with majorities of the popular vote.  Then we had three consecutive elections where the winner did not get a majority (first two due to Perot, third one due to Nader).  Then in 2004, Bush DID get a majority of the popular vote.  Due to the high turnout (by US standards, anyway), Bush got more total votes than Gore did in 2000 by a few million.  If I am not mistaken, Kerry got more votes than Gore did, too -- and he lost.

It's true.
By your original wording, I took you to mean either Gore got 51% (majority) the first time (which he did not), or that Gore got more votes in 2000 than Bush got in 2004 (also false).

By your edited post, I see you may have not intended it as such.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the Democrat party?

I think of Jimmy Carter....  that alone is motivation enough to vote Republican.  I was nine when he left office, even at that age I knew he was a terrible president, and both my mother and father are(and still is) die hard Democrats..
