Ya know, you can rag on MS all you want but they make a pretty decent sim. Looking forward to the eye-candy :)

Looking forward to the $50 game, and the stutters of playing the latest and greatest.

Maybe they'll put in some decent terrain this time instead of blurry ground objects that don't even look real.

(Yes i've been waiting for it....for a while)

$50 game on a brand new OS and three to four times the amount of system you currently have to run it decently.

Exactamundo,  I can still fly at 1FPS, it's just like a bunch of snapshots and plenty of time to admire the purty ground.

P.S. does it look like they transferred planes from FS2004 to this one in a new engine, and just looked mainly at the ground graphics?

'04 ran fine for me.  The service pack fixed a lot too

Dunno what kind of system you have, Nirvana...lots of people love the game, judging by the addons and 3rd party makers.

Call me crazy...could be your system...not the game ;)

Oh I love the game, I just started adding a lot of planes and stuff and it seemed to slow the game down to a crawl.  I was saying that in 2004 the ground was a blurry mass of squares and such for the most part.  Look at the before/after pics in that link, much more detail to the ground.

And my system isn't great, but it gets me by:aok

Problem is that MSFS has lots of short comings and they actually weakened the flight modelling in FS9 from what it was in the previous FS.
There just isn't any similar flight sims besides X-plane, which has its own short comings, mainly the lack of addon developers.
Hopefully MS improved the flight modelling this time, instead of ripping off more broken features in order to fix a bug.

Ive always liked MSFS. I think Ive owned them all. Unfortuately the only changes are the resolution in detail and a few scenario upgrades. The flying feels pretty close as it did in 5.0 to me.

  Plus you cant kill stuff.

I usually lag behind the "new and wonderful" curve. I've got a few copies of MSFS, but I never payed more than $20 for each.
