I was a senior in high school during the attacks of September 11th, 2001...My school also tried to censor the televisions that morning of the attack, but I think for a different reason...I live 45-50 minutes from Manhattan...I think it would be fair to say that 1 out of 4, maybe 1 out of 5 kids in my high school (which was nearly 3,000 people) had a parent that worked in Manhattan, and a lot in the WTC and lower Manhattan...As history would have it, five kids from my high school lost a parent that day...I think the administration had a very legitimate reason to try and censor what they could until more information was known to stop a mass panic...
I played high school football, and as soon as I heard what was happening, I went straight to the locker room where most of the team, and coaches were watching on a private tv...I'll never forget just looking at tower 1 burning, and then all of a sudden seeing the boeing slam into it......
