I know...There is a ton of information on our message boards, but I didnt want to post every link directly after the attack because it would have been in the hundreds...

I just wanted to post these few, for those who want, to reflect on the preserved thought and emotion we put onto this board within minutes/hours of the attack taking place.....

Like I said, I dont want this thread to turn into any type of debate...This isnt the forum for that.....

Brought back alot of memories of watching the 2nd plane hitting the tower in my 8th grade Spanish class. A kid in my class making a joke as the 1st tower fell. Kids going home early from school. The principle coming down to our classroom and ripping the cable out the back of the tv. Sitting home all afternoon and night and watching all the news channels for information. Reading those made the same feeling of the hair on the back of my arms stand up and that cold chill come over me that day...something that needs to be remembered.

I was a senior in high school during the attacks of September 11th, 2001...My school also tried to censor the televisions that morning of the attack, but I think for a different reason...I live 45-50 minutes from Manhattan...I think it would be fair to say that 1 out of 4, maybe 1 out of 5 kids in my high school (which was nearly 3,000 people) had a parent that worked in Manhattan, and a lot in the WTC and lower Manhattan...As history would have it, five kids from my high school lost a parent that day...I think the administration had a very legitimate reason to try and censor what they could until more information was known to stop a mass panic...

I played high school football, and as soon as I heard what was happening, I went straight to the locker room where most of the team, and coaches were watching on a private tv...I'll never forget just looking at tower 1 burning, and then all of a sudden seeing the boeing slam into it......

I brought my then newborn son Ian, and wife home from the hospital on Sept. 11, 2001.   I also have a cousin that is still working in the Pentagon and was stationed in that wing which was under construction.   She'd have been dead had this happened 6 months later.  I'll never forget.   I'd still love to cap OBL's arse.

I thought it was interesting reading back and seeing someone ask, "if the taliban was the group in control of Afghanistan"...It's just interesting to see how in the matter of a day, so many thing's have become household knowledge throughout the world...We truely live in a new age

It's amazing how unified the country was at that time and how fast it seemed to be ready to "put it behind them".
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Amazing how we got worked up about stuff that didn't directly affect us.  A few thousand people killed... Just a drop in the bucket compared to the slaughter going on every day around the world.  But we went nuts for a while.
