No.

Another thing that pisses me off about where I work...the union allows workers who smoke breaks to do just that...smoke. I dont smoke so I only get one break and work my arse off watching the people who need their fix every 10 minutes sit on a bench and get fat. I have to pay $8 out of every paycheck (every week) toward this union. I dont get any benefits from the union until after 6 months. By that time I will be long into my A school in florida. So im paying for these people to have the right to sit on the bench every 10 minutes and smoke.

Today during my break I was in the breakroom listening to a bunch of these people say they may be going on strike soon. One of them asked me what I thought being new. I told them Id cross the line everyday and work all the hours you all will be missing because you all dont get paid enough to sit around and smoke.

If it takes a shooting to get the cop's attention, then let's start shooting smokers who drop their butts on the ground!

Who's with me???!!!!!!

Maybe it's because the world has virtually eliminated all designated smoking areas of intrest.

guns,

As a boyscout I remember picking up cig butts during trash cleanup day long before the anti-smoking campaigns even started.  The bottom line is that an awful lot of smokers are inconsiderate prettythangholes who make the world smell and look terrible, and they justify their littering by bogus "freedom" and persecution arguments.

A smoker's freedom ends when I have to inhale his smoke or look at/pick up his trash, period.  At that point it's just anti-social behavior to be ruthlessly stamped out.

Im more peeved at the laziness of not throwing the butts out instead of flicking them at the ground around the garbage.

Nice wording Eagl...coudn't have said it better

Plus for me there is a second reason: I have asthma. (caused by broken ribs and subsequent pneumonia) I have to carry with me at all times my puffer, just in case. Second hand cigarette smoke is one thing that always affects my asthma adversely.

My mom still smokes, but she always puts her butts in a pocket, baggie, or now that "smoking areas" are mandatory, into the butt can.  She's a full-up nicotine addict but realizes that her addiction can hurt others so she takes reasonable steps to keep from bugging others.  Yea she gets pissed when the whacko anti-smoking extremists call smokers evil, but even before the anti-smoking movements she always took care to pick up her trash and avoid smoking around people who hate second hand smoke.

It's common courtesy, but a lot of smokers get all wrapped up in their version of their "rights" and end up going out of their way to be anti-social.  Makes them look like a bunch of childish tards IMHO.

And when I'm in uniform, god help the military member who tosses a butt on the ground in front of me...  The wrath of the pissed off Academy grad field grader comes out and pretty much lays waste to everything in sight.  Unpleasant doesn't really express the full weight of the experience :furious

Hehe, if I smoked and/or had a cigarette I might try it.  I just know when i'm in the auto shop all cigarettes are out before anything fuel related is touched.

The ignition point of gasoline vapor is approx 495 degrees F.

The temp of a lit cigarette is:
Side of the lit portion: 400 deg C (or752 deg F)
Middle of the lit portion: 580 deg C (or 1112 deg F)

A cigarette can cause gasoline vapor to ignite.

Think about it, if a cigarette can cause trash, furniture and bedding to catch fire, does it sound reasonable it won't cause gasoline vapor to ignite?

Long-time smoker here. I always smoke well away from doors at work to avoid offending anyone, usually around back of the building. Wash my mug and hands after every cig, too. And I don't pitch my butts just anywhere; I field-strip 'em (rip the cherry off and stamp it out, butt goes in the trash). Another smoker I work with smokes ten feet from the main entrance and intentionally flicks her half-torched butts into the parking lot. She's single-handedly managed to piss off every person who's ever seen her on break or at lunch.

At least she doesn't spend lunch in her car, engine running and windows rolled up, smoking like a chimney anymore. She'd come back from lunch smelling like a cocktail waitress after a 9-hour shift *gags*

Dirty smokers annoy the hell outa me. If you've gotta do it, at least make an attempt to keep the trash/stink down.
