Now now Hub this is not totally fair..  There are several BOP's that don't mind the change that much but others hate it just like the rest of the AH comunity, it's just that we are large enough that we are a sort of community in our selvs.

My personal opinion is that there has to be some solution to this without breaking up our squad. We love flying togeather.

Oh and you guys that want to make out like large squads were the problem I don't think that quite right.   We usually have a few people on during any given day but usually 10 to 15 maybe, or less depending on the time of day..
We would or would not work togeather, it was our choice and alot of the time it was a couple here and a few there, so no big deal.

The only time we had large #'s was monday night for squad night and usually got around 50 guys togeather.. It was fun.  We had the #'s to take bases quickly, to sneek them from the NME or just to engage a large group of fighters for a fun fighter sweep to knock them off of our base and defend the mother land. :)

BOPS never intentionally tried to ruin anyones fun in particular, we were just playing the game with enough peolpe 1 night a week to get what ever job we wanted to do done.  This would seem similar to rooks on, what was it sunday nights when they would be rolling.

I don't see HTC changing this format any time soon and yes it is hard to fit a squad the size of ours into this format but I think it could be done with some thought.. It's still early to really figure it all out but we can adapt I know it.

Viper I would really hate to see you go, I really value you as a squad mate and a friend even though we've never met.   I say just wait a bit... Tonight I got out of the early war arena and there were almost an even 30 of each country in the mid war arena and it was good. Though we could use a few more in there :D.     Nice even fights with a good chunk of the plane set. Heck I even had a good fight in a KI-61 VS a P51B, 2 spits and a 109..   First time I've benn ganged and really didn't mind so bad, it wasn't all LA-7's and spit-16's lol...

Bottom line, give it time we have a good squad and I think we can figure something out.
  all see you tomorrow somewhere.
From the ashes of the old we rise to fly again. Behold The Phoenix Wing!

No marketing experience, sorry. But I do have lots of experience has a consumer, and I know that if I don't like a service provided or I think I'm paying too much for the said service, I can stop paying and end my service. It's consumer rights and there is an alternative.

I Will Not Pay
« Reply #108 on: September 15, 2006, 05:56:50 AM »
There is no enjoyment in the game any more.

If the arenas stay in this new format. I just will not renew my subscription.

This may be a good business move for HiTech in the future. He may get more enjoyment out of it in the future with higher revenues.

But this is really crappy for the subscribers & there is no enjoyment in it for us.

HiTech, what the H**L were you THINKING, DRINKING or SMOKING

I won't be suprise if you try to find some reason to remove my post. I am sure you will.

Thanks,

Knee Jerk Reactions
« Reply #111 on: September 15, 2006, 06:15:01 AM »
Hey - my reaction was the same... "It stinks".  That said, I always give something the benefit of the doubt, as I will here.

For starters, the Late War arena and the former format are indistinguishable.   Play there.

Second, my squad has a number of guys who love the early war stuff.  They have a place to revel in it now, flying a P40B and not finding 25 LA-7s to fight.

What downside do I believe I, personally, will see?  My squad will fragment.  I won't be able to keep us all together as the early war guy separate from the late war guys.  That would be a shame.

However, squads are somewhat like sports teams, the rosters change, but the team remains the same.  The core will remain together, as we have for years.

Why give the Special Events arena a 500 User Access and limitt the Main Arena to 200 or 250

Where do I find people to fight.

30 is a good sized squad, still that's not quite a third of one of these megasquads.

Well I've been here ever since Beta (the first one) and I've never seen HTC EVER roll back to what was before. EVER!

They may make adjustments, tweak, add tools & things to make communication easier. But I am willing to bet the farm they will NEVER go back to a single main again.

So, this is it, get used to it!!

Learn to look for that silver lining!

Ghosth is correct. Those of you waiting for it to go back as it was have a long wait.

seems like HT got rid of the La-7 and spit-16 whines.

sounds like he weeded out the cherry pickers and horde flyers as well.

You split the Main Arena up HT, now how about a GV arena?

EDIT: well since you decided to edit AFTER i posted allow me to respond.
The "customers" you listed are very different from what we have here. i know cause i used to work at lockheed for SBC and did some govt work.
Most stuff especially with the govt as a customer is contract based not always but most. since they and in tern lockheed ussually would require MUCH more info well ahead of any changes because the contracts ussually stipulate it. Also tax payers fund the govt and to a larg extent lockheed, we are like shareholders so to speak so yeah your company would have to answer to your particular customers about any sweeping changes. Its the nature of your particular customer base. Mainly because tho you are private the govt and lockheed are not and even if your not under contract Govt oversite commitees would still require it....its the nature of you customer. If you didnt they wouldnt be your customer. And im sure that it was well understood before they ever became your customer.

now HTC is all private. We are merely subscribers.
if you subscribed to Maxim and they changed something like replacing hometown hotties with articles on how to pick up really hot chicks outt your league, and you called em up DEMANDING to know why, do you really think they were obligatoed to tell you?
What if its a sekrit reason? having to do a special project they they didnt want the competition to know about yet? ya know proprietory? kinda like HT's source code? Or maybe they changed it to guage by what works and what doesnt by how many are sold at newsstands ?
Fact is its a corporate bussness decision that they dont HAVe to explain to the subscribers for reasons that arent any of our bussiness. more than likely tho HT or pyro will

I will tell ya this, THEY ARE IN BED ASLEEP!!! they question wasnt raised till well after HTC was closed!! so now ppl are bashing them with the whole "they wont answer a simple question" thing when in reality they havent even been given a chance. till 8am tomarrow morning.
What gets me is either the ppl making this goofy accusation either KNow this and are just stirring up hate and discontent or so selfish to get what THEY want they never bothered to consider it....

either way the BBs tonight has been WAY to much  fun that i havent been able to do much flying lol even with 2 puters

The more I reads this the less I understand.
