I think "real men" wear whatever the heck they want without much regard for fashion or what others may think. What about you?

lol, I wear them 90% of the time when not working.  Problem is, you can't fight in them.  But I'm a lover, not a fighter  :aok

Topsiders.  They are 10x more comfortable, and are functionable when you need them.

Real men don't wear flip flops.  They wear amphibious urban transport devices which are secured with tactical foot restraint straps.

I prefer sandals over flipflops, myself.

Unless you are engaged in some activity involving water or sand, flip flops do indeed make you look less manly, if not flat-out gay.  Glad to see someone agrees with me.  Flip flops are not cool on men, despite whatever gayness you read in your trendy magazines.  At best they make you look like  a slob, at worst they make you look like a poofter.

This about sums it up:  "Did Ronald Reagan or John Wayne ever wear man sandals? I doubt it."

Like Chairboy I prefer the new generation of sandals:

Flip-flops... or jandals (what we call them in NZ) are prolific here. But from a practical point of view the suck, especially on the beach, rocks, or in the water.

Everything in its own time and place ... flipflops are smart and practical on the beach, in many other places where temperature is above 80 degrees, and around the house.

But in cold weather and on soldiers' feet goose steppin' at the May Day parade ...

I'm pretty sure the simple discussion of footwear leaves all of you out of the "real men" catagory.

Wait a minute ... you mean you don't have a closet dedicated totally to your shoes?
