We saw how exhausted you were from all the crying and drinking over the drubbing in Game 1, the nearly blown Game 2, and your sleeplessness with fear over Games 3 and 4, and wanted to let you rest.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

NOTICE TO BRIDS FANS:

You better win game 3.  Nate Roberston is Detroit's weakest pitcher (by far).  If you don't win this one- then its going to be a 5 gamer.

Also, you better jump on Nate early...if you don't then Lyland is going to call out Zumya to help Nate out.  If the game is lost then Zumya will rest.  If you see Zuyma on the mound, then its all over for the Birds.

Birds, this will be the most winnable game left...Carpe Diem or you will lose the series.

So what's the big deal about Zumaya again?

Didn't Verlander get killed in Game 1?  Mr. 105 apparently can't throw straight, a wild pitch resulting in a run and then a hit batter.  :lol   Sweet

Ok, I admit it.  I was wrong.  Too many times I've seen young, talented, untested pitchers in the lineup that choked in the postseason, but these guys came out like seasoned pros.  Even if they fall flat after this and lose the last 3 games I'll still be proud of the way they played so far in this series.  This is how I always knew they were capable of playing.  My cynicism was undeserved, and I'm glad these guys proved me wrong about how this series would go.

Go Cards!

That's the whole point. People who followed the team all year--REALLY followed the team--knew that they weren't playing up to their potential and were frustrated waiting for it to "click." True, guys were hurt for large parts of the season, but other teams dealt with the same problems and found ways to win. This club was BETTER than a 83-win season, and now when it counts they're finally starting to play like it.

The only hope for the Tigers is to pitch Pine Tar Kenny tomorrow, but unless Leyland goes back on his word, he's already stated that he will NOT alter his rotation. Verlander, who proved his mortality in Game 1, goes tomorrow against Weaver, rather than a rematch with Reyes.

THAT, I think, is exactly why the Cards are up 3 games to 1. LaRussa has done a better job of making adjustments where and when he needed them. Look for moving up Weaver to the delayed Game 5 over Reyes to pay off big time for St. Louis.

Starofafrica, I was down on them in Sept. too. They were playing bad, and making mental mistakes. The guys you never see make mental errors, were making them left and right. But the Cards got hot at the last minute, and have ridden it this far.

Saxman I was leaning toward Reyes for game 5, after the way he pitched last game. But you know Weaver wants to beat them badly. Should be fun tonight, if they can play.

The Tigers look like a team that is young, and kind of shell shocked. While the Cards look like the cool vets that they are. Remember the Cards have been the heavy favorite in the series recently(2004), and got blown out. This helps them a lot I think.

But remember what Yogi said.....It aint over, until it's over.

GO CARDS
