There is no comparison ... electric is better than gas to smoke meat.

Your sop is to enhance the meats flavor, not to cover up the gas residue.

Sorry, I hate tasting lighting fluid, I taste it no matter "how little" is used.    I've been to Lenexa and had their BBQ.   I doubt you could BBQ on their scale.

I won an award using my Natural Gas grill.   Folks I competed against, tasted my marinated chicken and asked what charcoal I used.   I told them, natural gas, chicken and the marinade and their jaws dropped.  I guess, you have no clue on how to BBQ properly.

"Gas residue", yer so full of it, yer grilling it on your charcoal grill.   Please save your reply, you are wrong on all accounts.   LMFAO, rookies.

Arguing about personal tastes is rather silly.

I dont really care about gas vs charcoal as both have their positives and negatives. What i do care about is WHO cooks on them. As long as it is the missus and not me, then i really could care less :D

Oh and I do the dishes when she cooks so its not about beeing lazy... she is just a better cook and more interested in cooking than i am.

Not a question in my mind

Like the saying goes. "anything that can be currupted. will be"

And no matter what way you slice it. Gas grills are gay.

Like I said If I want to cook on a stove I have a perfectly good one in my kitchen

And it has nothing to do with having Mann in the name.

I'ds still rather have a 55 gallon drum cut in half then a gas grill

You talking to a die-hard charcoal guy...I finally turned "Gas Gay" last summer, convenience won out over my charcoal webber, but then I discovered that I can still get the smokey flavor with wood chips in the gas grill.  I admit, I'm getting lazy in my old age. :)  I still have the webber when I need to get my charcoal fix.

(Oh, and Consumer Reports has always been rock-solid on the purchases I've made using them as a rough guide for what to buy, except for that Yugo back in 1980.....:D )

thats what happens when people insecure in their masculinity have to defend their masculinity and respond to a silly post made in a silly thread of a silly picture ;)

Rip handled it about the best.

Even for a........ guy, with carpet in his garage :lol

No carpet on my head! :p  Of course, being bald means I have more testosterone.  Which implies that if you have hair, you're GAY! :p

My cooking is requested by many and enjoyed by all. I rarely have much in the way of left-overs. In my opinion a charcoal grill doesn't add anything that I cant add by adding "real" wood chips to the cooking process. I don't use fake wood chips, actually didn't know they existed. I use Hickory the most because I like it's flavor.

If you are a great cook that is good to hear. I am happy for you.

Taste is subjective. What I may like or dislike may not agree with what you like or dislike or with what any panel of judges may like or dislike.

For you gas isn't worth the scrap metal, for me not only is it worth every penny I paid for it, but it also helps me cook well in large quantities.

Still, to each thier own and like I said before: Different strokes for different folks.

Mark

ok I can deal with that. But I gotta have my charcoal grill :)

The moral?  I have a natural gas grill.   It came brand new with the house I bought.   I don't worry about running out of propane, charcoal, fluid, etc.   Also, since I actually throw large parties, people aren't waiting around for food.   People come over to watch a football to eat and drink.

My marinated chicken would make you eat your words.   But then again, I've learned more in life than you have.   Keep up the lunacy, it makes people like me sleep at night knowing your generation will screw up this Country after I die and my son is stuck with this generation.

I wouldn't dare look into your trashcan.

I don't know much?
And what happens when I turn 30? does the Queen come all the way here an knight me? Or do I just go straight to being a God?

football explains it all.

I rarely eat my words. Food can taste good on a gas grill if you paint enough flavoring on it.

And as for my trash can, which one the one in the house? Or the one outside? either way look all you want I'm not too lazy to wash them out each week.

Hmmm, where did that come from MT? The girls I associate with normally are built like girls, not boys. I would assume dmf is a standard issue girl. What kind of girls do you associate with?
