Well sorry Bud but if you don't like it there's the door.  This is "America" not "Israel".

Mac

Sorry if I don't bend over to YOUR ways and needs.  Just don't Vote. Be a Lemming.

First of all, Christmas Tree is 2 words... Should be a pretty simple equation for an aspiring statesman.

Second of all, what set me off was your general tone. Being Jewish is immaterial, it was only an example. I don't want your religion, nor anyone else's stuffed down my throat. What you describe is not freedom of religion, it's forced imposition of prayer in school, among other places. Last time I checked, that's not freedom. It may seem right to you, but it doesn't to me, and the moment you work to take that right away is the moment you become an oppressor. And a silly one at that, because imposition of such a requirement is not pragmatic, it's just vain and shortsighted.

I don't like your policies, I don't like your beliefs, and I don't see the logic in your tactics. As an American, I believe that's my right. I practiced my right and disagreed with you and you, claiming to be the voice of the American way, showed me the door for voicing my opinion. Yet, in all this, I never once showed you the door for voicing yours.

I've had the pleasure, displeasure I should say, of living in a country that didn't give me freedoms to speak out. Thanks to my family, I came here at an early age, and was spared most of the suffering. You, on other hand, have been here all of your life, and yet, you don't seem to understand the first thing about what this nation stands for.

Me and my friends would riot if there was prayer at my high school.

My friends and I are all agnostic. AND we keep saying that there should be freedom FROM religion.

and Neubob I always knew you had sense :aok

It's amazing that something so funny got taken so seriously by so few (Neubob you really mirrored Chairboy in your post about "being down wit da urban plight").

It was intended to be a sarcastic expose of the status quo, yet for some reason, the religious part set people off like a bottle rocket.

Mac and others like him have said similar things in plenty of other threads...  "In GOD we trust" "So help us GOD", yada yada yada.

Pretty sure "If you don't like it, leave" has been tossed around quite a bit too.

Well I have a question...  How in the hell does "In God we trust" or "So help us God" all of a sudden mean "In the Christian God we trust" or "So help us Baby Jesus?"

No chance...  even the libertarians as the third largest party are unable to participate in the system.   They have to pay to play but are left out of the debates...  Impossible to get out your message and have a debate.

Actually, Diablo, I considered the possibility that this was a joke. Problem is, I've seen his posts before about how a time like this calls for remedies like 'Prayer in School', and other such idiocy. So, while the idea of him running for president may be funny, I think he takes most of this stuff seriously. This 'expose' would only be sarcastic if it came from the mouth of somebody who thought all these ideas were complete and utter garbage. As it stands, pretty sure that he's buying into this toothless hype 100%, or close to it.

On a personal note. Joke or not, anytime any moron defines this country for me, in his terms, then tells me to love it or leave it, I tend to stop laughing.

Indoctrinated? Sure, okay, I'm indoctrinated in that I want no part of your fairy tale. You can send your kids to sunday school, or catholic school, and you're free to tell them that Darwinism is a fairy tale, but where is my right to do the same, with my beliefs? Or is that freedom gone.

Corporate outsourcing is a natural extension of the free market. It wouldn't be so rampant if it didn't make economic sense. If American companies cannot keep up, then they have to find ways to excell. If they cannot through their own developements and growth, then, I'm sorry to say, they've earned the right to die. Progress isn't something you can enforce with artificial regulations. It's a competative world (read, world, because that's where you live now, as national borders are no longer that relevant in the workings of economics), and you won't win by saying you won't play by these naturally evolving rules. Personally, I thought the American way was to win by winning, not by redefining the rules to suit your needs.

You'd make a horrible president, Mac. A viable dictator, but a horrible president. Either way, using the word 'thingy' won't win you much credability.

No one said teach religion in school.... just freedom of religion. Right now the only one able to freely practice in schools are aetheist. If you want private school... pay for it yourself.... stay out of my pocket.

Also I would like to see the gravy train stop for lazy folks..... want to eat.. work..... want to sit all day on the porch... good luck with that. Want to have 15 kids.... you better have several jobs.... because they are your kids you feed them.
