Also I would like to see the gravy train stop for lazy folks..... want to eat.. work..... want to sit all day on the porch... good luck with that. Want to have 15 kids.... you better have several jobs.... because they are your kids you feed them.

Actually, everyone's more then welcome to practive their religion all they want in school...  It's the issue of actually teaching religion that is a biggy.

Corporate outsourcing is a natural extension of the free market. It wouldn't be so rampant if it didn't make economic sense.

It's only rampant (to the degree it is today) because we allow US companies to exploit countries and their workers in ways we have long decided are undesirable at home (and throughout the Western, "Civilized" world). Hard to beat child labor or indentured servitude from a labor cost perspective. Hard to beat running an open pipe to the nearest river where ecological regulations are concerned.

It only makes sense because of a selective lapse in morality and ethics, driven by greed, at the expense of our own workers. Trade agreements that are one-way streets. The same applies to "insourcing" and illegals.

Chinese Employers To Grant 15-Minute Maternity Break :)

"Even though this maternity break means I will lose three of my 12 cents for that hour, it will be worth it just to hold my baby in my arms for a few precious seconds," said pregnant seamstress Yuen Yin, 19, just after her factory's quitting whistle blew at 2:47 a.m.

Well I have a question...  How in the hell does "In God we trust" or "So help us God" all of a sudden mean "In the Christian God we trust" or "So help us Baby Jesus?"

Actually, Diablo, I considered the possibility that this was a joke. Problem is, I've seen his posts before about how a time like this calls for remedies like 'Prayer in School', and other such idiocy. So, while the idea of him running for president may be funny, I think he takes most of this stuff seriously. This 'expose' would only be sarcastic if it came from the mouth of somebody who thought all these ideas were complete and utter garbage. As it stands, pretty sure that he's buying into this toothless hype 100%, or close to it.

You mean you guys have taken some of Mac's posts seriously?

See, that's the problem.  You should never take his posts serious at all.  So what if HE takes it seriously?  I mean the guy has Bill the Cat as an avatar, and probably not realising it's a metaphor for "I support Bill Clinton".  All the more reason to come back with something rediculous.  At least that's the way I see it.

prayer and spirituality are not within the public domain.  it is YOUR job as a parent and/or as a citizen or community participant to engage young people on YOUR time, not on taxpayer time or my families time.

take them to sunday school.  its what it is there for.  why should my kids have to sit through it?

i mean, if we are going to go that way lets do it all the way...we can make everybody bow three times a day to jeruselem and the women can be forced to wear bhirkas so as not to upset to nutjobs upstairs.

no thanks.

don't tread on me.

For what its worth,  From Wikipedia:

Bill the Cat was inspired by a colorful economist named Bill Moore. Moore was a graduate assistant at the University of Texas in Austin during the 1970s, and one of Berke Breathed's teachers. Recognizably wild-eyed (and one legged), Moore also became one of Breathed's friends.

Well, I'm an agnostic and I never felt marginalized in school. I always thought that it was pretty neutral. No Christianity, no Judiasm, no Budhism. Outside of their historical significance, there was no mention of prayer or worship, or devotion to this prophet or that prophet. Athiesm is only viewed as a religion by those who benefit from such determination. The lack of any religious mention, to me, is neutrality. It does not preclude religion at home or anywhere else.

I'll stay out of your pocket if you keep your hands off my beliefs. There now both have a bumper sticker.

It was a nod to sarcasm, like this thread IMHO.  Wasn't being serious at all, just thought it was funny.

*sighs...laments the draining of humor in the O'Club....*

I agree....humor has now became a thing of the past in the O'Club.... maybe it got "Outsourced".

Well I won't let that bother me... Tis the Season to be Jolly.

Merry Christmas and GOD Bless America.

Had to laugh at NueBobs assumption that I have lived in America all my life.

:rofl

Toss out some good ideas to make America a better place.

America IS the melting pot.... just some are either to close or to far from the fire.
