I think i am just going to shoot at the ranch but its two hours away from my house. Guess its time to do some really long sessions and make it worth the trip. Nothing like shooting 1000 in one sitting.

That's about how far I have to drive to shoot at a good public range. There are a few private ranges a bit closer (but not really that much) I may try to get into.

What I do is make a day of it. I bring two battle rifles with 100 - 200 rounds and a pistol or two. I just got a 16 gauge Remington 11-48 from my Dad, so I may add some skeet to the mix. The biggest drag is the lack of friends that are interested in shooting, so it ends up being a solo experience a lot of the time. Few of my friends grew up around firearms, and while many show some interest the distance makes it harder to get them out for the day.
