A request of our Uber Pilots
« Reply #15 on: December 20, 2006, 08:40:53 PM »
I had an experience with an uber ah god yesterday & got called everything but a human being for killing a con he called out as his. I was already well on my way diving on it at the time.
I don't appreciate being cussed out for killing a cartoon airplane that he thought should have been" HIS"8th or 10th kill. He did the very same thing to me 3 or 4 times in the doughnut map a while back. I didn't get mad or cuss him out for it. I just thought I had better kill them quicker next time.

Chill out dude. Did you run out of your seedy weed or what?
Lets keep the stupid to a minimum.

Let's be honest, you really just wanted a little affirmation for your way of flying, and you wanted to take a shot at killnu, because he didn't give you a bit attaboy and tell you you did a great job.

Falcn, did you bother reading what actually happened?  guess not.

If engaging 3 guys that were 9k or so, with me at 10k, over own base by myself is
Quote
hang about 5k away at about 8k off an enemy base and use alt/e ropes and stalls to get their kills
then sure.  this however was not the case.  maybe from his view point up there, it looked like I was above them by 5k, not sure how, but couldve been.  Like I stated before, if any of them wouldve ventured out away from base, I would not of been there...because I wouldve been fighting them in b/n bases.

So, you seem to like doing that falcn, you said it was spot on...so why do it?  why not push enemy back to their base and go for capture?  why just sit and wait...then end up losing base?  Like what happened.  And save me the, to hear the whines crap...that a cop out answer... imo of course.
Karma, it follows you every where you go...

Did I read right?  Someone complaining how they got killed?  Someone asking why aren't you pushing out to capture a base instead of defending?
It is really funny how politicians, media types, and some players in this game can talk one way one day, another way another day, and then go out and do what they like anyway, while complaining how others are doing what they like.
How many times I have pushed out, only to be jumped by a high flying tag team, looking for some climbing out meat.  I have no problem with that, it is a tactic they use.  My answer when I get killed the first time by said tactics, is to climb near my base and then head out.  If one from the other side happens to come in lower than me, well now I don't have to fly far for a fight.
Works for me.

Hubs as soon as I landed players at the feild thought the ch200 dialog was priceless. So Hubs if I have violated your b.s. meter or whatever criterion you use for judging the worthyness of posts here...I apologise for not meeting your expectaions. But then I have noticed making requests of the more enlightened and accomplished members of the AH2 pilot and BBS posting communitys only receives adulation if one is a "member" of the "iluminati". Look all I did was sneak in and grab the ting from his foot locker. If I'd have known what you had planned for that cat of yours with the Slip and Slide, 3 gallons of Wesson oil and the six foot long Pepperidge Farm hickory smoked sausage you got in last years Christmas stocking, I would have never been a party to whole deal......I hope Fluffy is recovering well.....you destroyed the pictures.....RIGHT!?!?

killnu i know you are upset right now but i was responding to your ch 200 question as to why someone would hang at alt near a friendly field not actually addressing your specific fight.  the answer to your ch200 question is to prevent enemy cons from arrving at alt and establishing an "e cap" over a base.  i personally dont do that...but not because i disapprove (rather i do) but because im too damn ADHD and need to start looking for a fight immediately.

again i am far from saying ANYBODY's style of fighting is right or wrong...they are just different and fit people's objectives (score, defense, k/d, capture etc)

lets steer away from you and use ack-ack as an example...i personally like the guy and he has kilt me more then i have kilt him....but would i call him "uber"? No.

not because he is or isnt...but because i cant recall many fights where i felt he didnt enter with advantage (alt/e)...so i dont feel he is "uber" to me.  Ack-ack is a smart and patient pilot...he deserves the kills that he harvests from me. no argument. he also tends to fly solo in my experience and i give him extra props for that.  Other guys called "uber" always have wingmen and so even though they may kill me me more then i kill them...its not because of their individual skill.

who would i refer to as uber?  i really only have two that i get the adrenaline going for...Creton and Blukitty (manetmp).  those are guys who dont always have advantage but still seem to stay alive and get kills.  But im narrowing the gap:aok   the dueling ladder should be fun...and eye opening for many...hope to see you all there:t

Mickey,

Sorry Fluffy is my 12ft tall cave bear. And if you want to play with her thats your business.....  Sauseges and cooking oil between the two of you would be well worth getting out the old vidcam.

Please don't confuse her with the cats Furball, Lockwood and bustr. Furball and bustr together don't weigh as much as Lockwood. But if you wanna try to lube him up...it's your skin......

Now for the pictures....I have a great photo editing suite and Nomde gave me some great pictures of the weekend you two spent in Tahiti......:huh

Falcn, I have fought more than my share from the less alt position and dont mind doing it.  I have called people down to engage me below them...hardly hiding from it.
guess the point of the question is this...if you want to defend base...best defense is offense...this tactic that was used in this case...ended up losing base.  Not the desired effect, im sure.  If you decided to grab some near, over base to get above/coalt with cons, why not attack...go towards their base and push them down, so your buds can get up in good position to push as well? base defended and now you on offense to take enemy base.
Karma, it follows you every where you go...

I am trooly stoopid and I apologise. My intentions were good if not misguided. If you want to close this one it is fine. Seems the flying suits are too big for any of us to handle.......:(

You trolled bustr, "good and misguided"?   I'd say far from it.   Admitting you did that is the first step, there is NO reason to lock the thread.

Mash,

I admit to worse than a trolling. I really believed my opinion of KillinU mattered to myself and that folks like yourself care about your impact on the community. For this I was willing to run the gauntlet of AH BBS business as usual. For that reason I admit to being stupid. Otherwise I have seen superior trolls on this BBS  than I'm capable of.

I pick my share of cherry's using the same tactics KillnU uses. Must work since I caught him with it. I refuse to question the picker when I get picked. After all I put myself where the picker could get me what ever factors inspired us to meet at that moment. It's irrelevant. The 56th is famous for using wingman tactics to cherry people. P47's work better as a group.

It struck me as a poor example for the rest of us average players by someone as talented as KillnU to even swet it on ch200 in front of everyone. It made me wonder if there were more talented players who thought so low of the rest of us cherry fodder.
