Everyone...the lumps and other barbed compliments in some ways are worth it because of  the ribald but insisive banter from this audience. But SkyRock is right. I conceed...to the power of the blog mobs justice.

Merry Christmas to all for this thread and I ask Santa not to put coal in any of your stockings.....:aok

P.S. Santa ...please give KillnU one of those rear warning radar units for Christmas and 1000 cases of single malt to bribe HiTech to hook it up for him....:D

Bustr, if my observation is incorrect, then perhaps you could enlighten us all with your actual motive...

Wait a minute.....hmm......usually incoming to attack a base are higher then those defending at the base.  I think since incoming would be higher and immediately put a defender at a disadvantage it would be wise to grab at least co alt or better to defend.  Only makes sense imho.

I really can't picture the Luftwaffe waiting till the P47s got to their base to straffe and bomb to hit the runway and liftoff and get shot on takeoff.

Just a thought.

There is, of course, one universal denominator for this situation:

If I got shot down, I made a mistake.

The same thing as getting vulched 4 times, because of upping off a capped field.

Getting smacked in a rope, because you fell for it.

Getting smoked by Buffs because you made a dead 6 attack with only a 25-50 MPH speed advantage.

Getting your turret popped off 4X in a row, because you kept upping at a camped spawn.

If you did'nt learn after the first time, It's your own damn fault.

It takes SA to survive any amount of time in the MA's. You have to know where the NME is, How many he is, and, most importantly, Assume he knows where you are.

These are really simple rules...But they are broken continuosly. And yelling at the phosphor dots does'nt help.

my god...do any of you read?

Did I complain because I got shot down?  No.  I asked a dang question that not a single one of you has attempted to answer...except Falcnwing...base defense...I gave my opinion of why I think it is not a base defense...and in this case I was right...they lost base.

bustr, once again you are talking like I was whining about getting picked on 200...I asked a question, one you have yet to answer, other than "im not sure, i was playing with my cat".  once again, you are talking like I had some great alt advantage over the first 3 red dots I saw...if 1k to coalt is some great advantage then sure....if having them pull up to me is "diving in on unexpecting enemy below", then sure...but it isnt.  Keep ignoring what really happened and tryin to spin it in to something it wasnt...heck, maybe hub is right then.

here ya go, wtfg on the great kill!!!! You have done the equivalent of seeing the loch ness monster...no no...big foot!!  Hope you got a screen shot of you killing me...print it out and frame it so you can share it with all your friends.

There better?

Hajo,
Try reading what I wrote...please?  Think I already said that.  But I did continue on to s\ay, when you have alt on incoming cons, like he did, why not push to enemy base and give your buds a chance to get up.
Karma, it follows you every where you go...

i totally get killnu's question and point.  Sometimes i do question why that happens.  Heck, in fact, sometimes I see people vigorously defend a base, and when the enemy wanes, everyone dissappears when I would think the logical thing would be to get on the attack.  But then again, I guess people play the way they want to play; however, I see nothing wrong with questioning that.  Its not about being right or wrong, its just to solicit information. Maybe saying a question out loud without passing judgement. I am sure everyone has done that sometime, in AH or life.

Back to the issue, when defending a base, i do grab as much alt as possible.  It only makes sense.

All in all, I have loads of fun with this game :aok

lol, ya.  its a boring topic, no one wants to answear the real question, and many want to try to turn it into something its not.  so it's at least a little entertaining.  it's kinda like ET, or extra or something.  btw, the day i need an uber pilot to congratulate me on killing his cartoon airplane, will be the day i leave AH.

killnU is a fine pilot, and generaly when he has killed me in the past it has been through skilled flying not 'uber picking'

i don't really understand your point about where and when to climb and fight, killn, but i will defend your ability to fight a good fight.

just saying.

Read the whole post, and have to say it's a bit odd. My opinion is if you get shot down, who cares what someones doing at 15k over his base, maybe he's trying to reach the pickers at 10, 12, or whatever k they are, isnt defending ur base a tactic?  As is defending by pushing an offence as killin mentioend. Maybe he doesn't care about capturing bases right at that moment. I understand killins point, but really, if u post on 200 after a kill, it's usually coz ur pissed, at least that's when I post my crap! (rarely I must add) :) By the way, u picked me in my F4U the other day, u bar steward :)

Who cares, just play on.
