for wrapping you just put it in another box and put some bubble wrap with it, with any luck the bubble wrap will distract them long enough that you can make your escape.

easiest thing i had to open was the front door.

The answer to all of this is to get your kids clothes and books which they really need in the first place.

Do you have kids?

They come out with products. Usually fresh out for Christmas
And they put then in packages that are next to impossible to wrap!!

Right now I have these damn "Bratz Kidz" Dolls Im wrapping for my daughter.
Not only isnt there a square corner on any portion of the package.
The sides are made up of convex curves.
Im almost half tempted to just wrap Duct tape around the entire things.

Give your kids our condolences

Yea we had a guy in this town that only used to do the same thing.

Couple years ago his 17 year old son woke him up in the middle of the night by running him through with a sword

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" LOL

You forget the reason why Christmas in this country became so popular in the way we celibrate it with Santa Clause.

Back in the Victorian era of the 1800's
Parents then were much the same as you are claiming to be.
Santa Clause gave them the excuse to once a year give things to their kids without appearing to be spoiling them.

Now Im about as tough as they come when it comes to my kids education.
and when I said in a post some time ago that
"Grades are only allowed to go up and not down"
And "whoa be it to you if the grade goes from an A to an A minus"
I was heart attack serious when I said that.
My son once went from an A to an A minus
And he heard about it

but as tough as I am I know you also have to balance it out with fun stuff and things non educational related. Although it can be argued that any toy is educational in its own way.
Life isnt all books
And not all the needed life skills can be taught by an adult, a book, or learned in a classroom

you guys give your kids what you want, just don't cry when you need a chainsaw to open them.

kids who kill their parents have a lot more issues than mom & Dad didn't get me enough gifts as a child.

Actually, I try to give her what SHE wants (tempered by what little good sense God has left me with, that is).

And I'll always try to give her what she wants, temperd by that same good sense. Thats what daddy's do after all,and at her age, I'm still her hero (happy dance).

Thats all good.I never hated on anybody, i just shared my view of toys and choice of gifts that's all.My youngest child is 6 and she is really going on 16.I limit the spoiling of the " Baby Girl" if you know what i mean.

Books and clothes and interactive learning games for the computer is about all kids at the age of 6 and up need is my opinion.I mean hey i know some of these toy designers go to years of college so they can be good toy designers when in reality that same toy has about 5 mins. of actual spotlight in today's culture and is usually forgotten in a moment, where as a Book is good for a life time and clothes shelter from the storm.

feeding thier heads with knowledge is the Key.
