Give your kids our condolences
Yea we had a guy in this town that only used to do the same thing.
Couple years ago his 17 year old son woke him up in the middle of the night by running him through with a sword
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" LOL
You forget the reason why Christmas in this country became so popular in the way we celibrate it with Santa Clause.
Back in the Victorian era of the 1800's
Parents then were much the same as you are claiming to be.
Santa Clause gave them the excuse to once a year give things to their kids without appearing to be spoiling them.
Now Im about as tough as they come when it comes to my kids education.
and when I said in a post some time ago that
"Grades are only allowed to go up and not down"
And "whoa be it to you if the grade goes from an A to an A minus"
I was heart attack serious when I said that.
My son once went from an A to an A minus
And he heard about it
but as tough as I am I know you also have to balance it out with fun stuff and things non educational related. Although it can be argued that any toy is educational in its own way.
Life isnt all books
And not all the needed life skills can be taught by an adult, a book, or learned in a classroom
