Goodbye for a while AH'ers
« on: January 01, 2007, 07:54:28 AM »
Hello all and a happy new year.
As I have mentioned before, I am about to embark on a new adventure, - from farming to seamanship. I sail in 22 hours.
This means no AH, and no forum apart from the stop in harbour every month. Much worse is no missus and kids for the same period.
However, it's probably going to be interesting, and full of new things to experience.
So....bye to you all for a while, and I'll log in later when I'm back.
(Right now I'm packing Parrot, Eyepatch, Wooden leg, Arm-hook, Striped pullover etc etc.)
Arrrfff.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I figured with all the global warming, there would be MORE farming in Iceland, not less...

Of course, there is also more water too since the ice is melting, so maybe that means more pirates.  Maybe we'll see some vikings this season.

Good luck, don't fall overboard.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

good luck, as a word of warning be mindful of the flying fish as you hang out topside contemplating the insignificance of man while gazing into the star blazoned heavens.  those little suckers can hurt.

Good luck to you and your family. May your seas be smooth and pirate free.

Thanks all.
Sailing in 12 hrs now. The Ship is a 1000 tonnes trawler, and we go after flunder, Halibut and cod in Northern waters, often above the arctic circle AFAIK.
If there is anything of interest I'll keep you posted through my wife.
Take care and keep AH running you slackers. Make sure Viking and Nilsen are busy while I vacum clean the Norwegian waters. Arrrfff. :D

I'm pretty sure that trawler contributes to global warming...;) but regardless, may the seas be calm and the bounty plentiful, Angus!
