Republican Candidates for 2008?
« Reply #60 on: January 22, 2007, 08:49:56 PM »
I'm considering on running.
My platform will be:

Make beer illegal except for microbrews.

Export Bud and Miller to 3rd world countries.

Monday and Thursday nights that NFL is on TV, is a national holiday.

Liberal voters are drafted and placed on the front lines. (Hey, Iran did it in the Iran/Iraq war, why not us?)

All illegal aliens are rounded up and deported.

Any funding for research of killer viruses(AIDS, etc), for which there has never been a cure for in history, are redirected to creating alternative fuels in order to make the Middle East kings 3rd world status once again.

Free health care only for those who earn a living.

Make pot legal, create more prison space for hard drug users such as Meth. Min. 10 year sentence if busted for hard drugs.

Ban tabacco.

DUI's: First offense you lose your license for 60 days. Second offense you lose your license for life.

Level 3 sex offenders are castrated. Preferably by police, if caught in the act.

The only good Roosevelt, he was a little bit of a tree hugger but he meant well... He was one of the few in the past 100 years or so that actually "Had a pair".

<<<<~~~~ Throwin my hat in...

Vote Mac!!!   Free America.

Here's my proposal:

I'm voted in on a third Party ticket.. called: American.

1.  We safeguard our borders, North and South, East and West.

2.  Total ellimination of Corporate outsourcing..If you depend upon 3rd World Countries to do American work then you move to that dam Country...yer not American.

3.  The UN is outta the USA... send these corrupt bassturds to France or where ever...just get them out, after they pay all their parking tickets.

4.  American Education.  College is open to all. No tuitions.  If you make the grade you made it!

5.  We are no longer the Worlds police force.  Collect the funds due to the USA from Germany, France and everyone else and pay back to China.  There is no longer a Favorite trade Nation.  You want to trade with us it's straight across the board!

6.  NAFTA is out.

7.  All ExPresidents are just that... Ex Presidents. So STFU.

8. We rebuild America. Starting with the Farmers, Teachers, Firemen and the Police.

9.  If you can walk, talk, spell there is a job out there for you. Revamp of the Welfare System.

10.  In GOD We Trust is just that!  It's Christmas... NOT Xmas, NOT Seasons Greetings.... There is no Seperation from Church and State.  You don't like it? Leave.

11.  All Medical and Dental are paid from the Goverment.  Gotta look good and feel good. This is America.

12.  Freedom.

This is my plan, my Ticket.  I don't see either party with one yet.
I'm not rich, if anything I went from poor to maybe middle class.

I say raise your Country as you would raise your child.  Hug it and Love it and never let go.

Vote for a Free America,

Mac

Are there 8 possible Republican candidates or so?  Hopefully, the RNC will choose better.  Better to run the best man or woman and let the chips fall where they may than run Senator or Govenor Bloviate because they look good on TV and are more "electable."

Yes, I know.  Idealistic.  And darn proud of it.  A pox on you naysayers.  I'm hoping for 2 very good candidates.

All the Best,

hap

Nothing wrong with being idealistic or hopeful even.  It takes up the slack for those of us who have finally grown tired and weary of beating our heads against the walls.

I have reached the stage of, "we will never have a person in any office who will do the right thing".

the way I rate presidents is in how much lasting harm they have done.   Ford can be a blip in the radar... he really did no harm.

LBJ and the great society... the worst of the horrendous welfare system that is a legacy of misery and wasted money...  Lincoln has a legacy of destroying states rights.... fairly important...  FDR a legacy of socialism and big government..

Bush?   appointed some good SC judges... passed some protection of industry bills and lowered taxes and helped the economy...  bumbled through a war and didn't veto enough and... maybe worst of all...tried to expand powers of government with a bogus "war on terror" at home...  hopefully... we can get rid of these things before some socialist gets in power and realizes how useful these powers can be to him and his socialist agenda.

By removing the subsidies for big oil companies....and a multitude of pork barrel spending could actually be given some *gasp* oversight.

Besides that...are we saying that we don't want to educate or provide care for our citizens because it costs too much?  It must be nice to have sufficient wealth to not have need for government...but as a teacher....I see the other side of that coin every day.  Poverty breeds more poverty.

The only thing that can keep our nation ahead of the curve...is if we continue the innovation that is distinctly American.  The only way to do that is to provide the best education and health care to our citizens.

We have to begin to think about our place in the world in relation to China...and in some other way than "we can just nook em".

Thats the problem.  No matter what we do, it's going to cost something.  But...at the moment we don't seem to have a problem with spending vast sums of money.  School vouchers are NOT an alternative...for more reasons than I have strength to type.

I'm not saying I have the answers, but we need to have a public debate about these things.  It seems no one understands the word compromise anymore...  Surely there is a way to balance the needs of society, with the almighty dollar.

I fear the '08 debates are going to be 100% Iraq...  While that is a very important issue...it should not be the ONLY issue.
