Trying... yes. Tell me, did Iraq need saving from Iran before your invasion in 2003?

Umm, no it wasn't.

Origin of the Name California - The name California comes from a mythical Spanish island ruled by a queen called Califia that was featured in a Spanish romance ("Las Sergas de Esplandian") written by Garcia Ordonez de Montalvo in 1510. The Spanish explorers originally thought that California was an island.

And just about every other search for the term 'origin of name california'
will give the same results.

What's your source, or are you just repeating a Rush bloviation?

So wanting to defend yourself scares you?

Does it still scare you walking across the street without Mommy? Assuming you actually do.

No one but the U.S. gives a watermelon about this, (and not ALL the U.S. ) as the only target of any Iran attack is gonna be Israel-- not Paris, London, or Berlin. Nothing much has changed in the last century..."It's not MY problem"..."as long as they don't hurt MY country...."

Oh... and the history you are writing at the moment is not something you should be proud of.

The US knows plenty about war.  We have been involved in it for most of our existence.  We were forged by a war with our "former masters" and we suffered a catastrophic civil war.  Follow that with involvement in every major conflict since then.  We are champions of freedom, and the desire to help.  Apparently that means little now in Europe.  As for it happening "over there", I needn't remind you that a bunch of religous fanatics attacked us not to very long ago.  We now fight them "over there" so we and you do not have to fight them at home.

As for the history we are writing, I am very proud of it.  The US and allies stopped an insane dictator and stopped the proliferation of WMD's.  We also presented a united front against countries that support terrorism.  History will look back a 100 years from now and say that we did the right thing.  Unfortunately the short sighted liberals do not see it that way.  They only see the here and the now, and the fact that no one is hurting them in their snug little Land Rover Discovery in their tract homes.  They fail to see that the reason that is, is because the US responded and is now proactive in the fight against terrorism, as opposed to a previous administrations "head in sand while I lob a cruise missle" approach.

Depends on who writes the history. My guess is in Iraq it won't be you.

Well that's as close to admitting you wish the US to fail as you have come in a while.

It' doesn't change my respect for you though.. still at zero.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

While the consequences will be bad, and I really should hope you win, I can' help but feel good at the thought of you people having to eat all those arrogant words you spewed at Europe (France in particular) a few years a go. It may be wrong, but it feels so … good. :)

well...as much as I enjoy a good french joke, I sure hope france survives without being brought under sharia law.  I really hate the thought of drafting an army of several million young americans again, to go liberate that god forsaken nation.

Maybe viking and his warrior clans can go do it this time instead.
