Iran, Israel and Newt Gingrich

Both these reads come from a jewish webzine (linked from Drudge) so it goes without saying that a sigificant bias is unavoidable from the start but I am wondering how far away I should stand from that Bias considering the entire world sees the US as a puppet to the zionist regime occupying Palistine.

Good old newt.  Here he talks about the possibilities of an  nukular attack
and the fact that a response would surely result but again, he and everyone else in any position of power never seems to say or even remotely suggest in general, what the response would be.  In my opinion, whatever response would reform Islam once and for all into a true religion of peace would be the only response worth initiating......

Both are good reads if for no other purpose than to at least stay abreast of the Israeli position.  Although Im not sure how Gingrich folds into the jewish/palistinian problem.

I'm afraid that the topic is the elephant in the living room.  Gingrich just wants to get out in front of the issue I think.

You can be certain that an attack using conventional and tactical nuclear weapons IS being discussed and plans are already in place and training has begun in Turkey, Israel, Iraq and in the USA.   Iran will not be allowed a strategic weapon.  Short of regime change in Iran, it is pretty clear what will happen.  Time is running out.

Few politicians want to be perceived as a button pusher, makes people nervous. I suspect there are many politicians that would not retaliate in kind and probably a lot of Americans that would not want to.

I think most of people feel that a pre-emptive strike on nuclear targets in Iran, even with conventional weapons, is kind of unthinkable.  Let alone a strike using tactical nuclear warheads.  Its hard to conceive.  But I think that if you read what info is out there,  a lot of different interests, including some in Europe, are coming to the conclusion that low yield nukes that detonate underground are fairly safe to the region in terms of radioactive contamination, even though colateral damage could destroy of lot of life in densly populated areas.   Its scary stuff.  and its right now, even though Iran is not thought to be producing stragegic weapons yet, it has enough matierial, enough new centrifuges to start enriching uranium at a rate fast enough to make a lot of nuclear weapons once it starts.

Personally, I think the west has people on the ground in Iran right now seeking for some kind of evidence that will make that kind of a strike politically acceptible.  a smoking gun if you will...

We found in Iraq that cutting off the head of this beast just caused it to grow more heads. We may just have to let Iran do their own thing and absorb a nuclear attack. At least then perhaps there will be support for a retaliation which could end the problem once and for all.

you might be right lukster, especially lacking actual real proof of a a secret parallel nuclear program in Iran.  Many people say they "know" Iran has one, but they just don't have actual proof.

i don't think we would do a pre-emptive strike against Iran without proof, and without the upper echelon in the pentagon agreeing with it.  But i wonder, what about Israel?  will they need proof?  if they have proof, they are sitting on it.  or at least i haven't heard about it.

I think Lukster is correct.  The US is becoming so sissified, Europe already is sissified, and the Chinese do not care so long as Iran keeps supplying them with oil.

Nothing is going to happen.  Especially with the democrats burying their collective heads in the sand.  Nothing will happen until after an attack on Israel.  Then, Iran will be a huge problem to deal with.  Especially considering they will be nuclear capable.  It also would not surprise me in the least that Iran will plan to have a weapon in, or near the US to be able to cause problems in both places.  It is kind of sad, but not unlike what happened with Osama.  Slick Willy was to busy dipping cigars in places to worry about taking out a known terrorist  the Sudanese were going to hand to him on a platter.  So be it.  We will not learn from past mistakes, the democrats will see to it.

Civilized and sissified are to different things.  All sissification does is allow someone else to write your history.

That gets my vote. Let them make the first move, then wipe them out completely with nuclear fire.

Gets my vote too.

Let's non-stop publish a bunch of Mohammed-screwing-a-sheep cartoons daily in the Aftenposten. When Oslo finally goes up in a mushroom cloud, the Norwegian Strategic Rocket Forces can rain final retribution down on them.

Perfect solution.

If they were calling for the destruction of Norway, that might have been a possible outcome. Alas it is not us they want dead.

Fine, then tell me where you live so we can tell Iran to make their "first move" there.
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

You may think that, infidel, but you'd be wrong. You may be just a little farther down the list is all.

But keep thinking that way; they're counting on you to do so. :)
