Would it be possible to maybe add an option where, if you have your tracers turned off, your last 20 or so rounds in the belt would be tracers to let you know they are getting low?
I know its kinda redundant in a game where you have an ammo counter built in, but I have had several times already (only been flying tracers off for this tour so far) where I have run out of ammo (especially on aircraft with "lopsided" loads, like the Ponies) in mid fight because I get so busy scanning the sky and maneuvering that I keep forgetting to watch my counters.
It happened with tracers on too, but reading (and seeing guncam footage) of USAAF fighters in action, it seemed pretty common to do that when tracers weren't used. Not saying make it an automatic feature when they are off, just another option- maybe "tracers on/tracers off/indicators" or something.
