Showing off my Brother-In-Law's work
« on: January 31, 2007, 02:46:45 PM »
For a couple of years now I've wanted to show off some of my brother-in-law Rodney's work.  He owns his own body shop here in Austin.  He does a lot of insurance work but he also does custom work and restoration jobs.
He has a 68 prostreet Camaro that he worked on for over 8 years and finally entered it in the show circuit and won a lot of first place for body and paint and best of show awards.    He recently did a paint article for Chevy High Performance magazine (on your newstands now ;) )  Rodney has been doing paint and body work for a little over 30 years, he started when he was 14.
He has a guy he does a lot of work for, SW (its a long name) SW is a custom car dealer here in Austin.  Rodney recently in the last 8 months or so finished up 2 cars for SW, a 69 Camaro and a 69 Mustang.  the 69 Camaro was entered in SEMA this past year and won something but I dont remember what it was.   Some company, (name i cant remember either, DSW?, Detroit ??) is going to use the 69 Camaro on the cover of their catalog for next year, and was featured in Car Craft a month or two ago i think also.   the 69 Mustang was just finished last month and SW entered both the camaro and the mustang in the car show here in Austin two weekends ago, he got both 1st and 2nd place and Rodney got 3rd place for a silver 69 Camaro he also had entered

anyway here is both the Camaro and the Mustang

SW has a sort of writeup  on his mustang on a mustang forum if you want to know what went in to the car.  his name there is StreetKing

He says Car Craft is supposed to come out next couple of weeks and do a spread on the Mustang.

Nice cars. Now I'm not a fan of black cars, too much time in the SW in the Summer, but I thought the Mustang looked better in the before photo. It had some contrast to it instread of a nearly homogenous black, except for the flat black hood.

Sweet Mustang!  Looking at that 69' makes me miss mine all the more.

Great work.
