LMAO that is one of the funniest setups I have ever seen.
I myself am collecting parts for my own version of a simpit. Which should get a chuckle or two as well.
But it will be the simpit of everyones dreams...trust me :D

Gahds! I thought my desk was a mess!
Glad to see Im not alone. LOL

Yea that apring used to be pretty damn stiff. But either the spring broke. Or whatever holds the spring in place broke long long long ago. Really about 2 months after I first got it.
Other then whats left of the spring hanging up once in a while. After the spring broke it felt remarkabaly similar to my CH stick

The spring still worked to autocenter the stick most of the time. but every once in a while it would catch on something inside and I'd have to wiggle it free. Got to the point where it was minor inconvienience really.

And as I already stated I used the stick like that for years.
I actually liked the stick.
The worst part was I'd keep wearing out the hatswitches. Usually the left view. and pushbutton switches So I'd buy up old "Top Gun" sticks and canniblise them  for parts.
Though I wish I had realised I could get higher quality pushbutton switches at Radio Shack sooner then I did.

LOL I got to the point where if something broke in flight I wouldnt even log off of the game. Id just take the stick apart.replace what needed fixing. sometimes soldering new switches in place recalibrate. and continue on..

Eventually I ran out of places to get old Top Gun sticks and the stick itself got to the point where I had things superglued in place because the braces that held them in place broke off and the handle part of the stick itself was held together by way of electrical tape because Id had it apart so many times the screw holes were stripped.

So finally about a month ago I finally made good on my threat of the last 5 years on getting a new stick. and picked up the CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. And I've been mapping, and remapping ever since.
Im finally down to a couple of things to tweak to make it feel the most natural to me and I'm getting there in spurts. but I am also finding a bit of a learning curve with so many options available to me at the same time I didnt have before.

But prior to that. If youve gone up against me. All IO was using was a XFighter stick, and a keyboard

I now WANT pedals though..just because LOL
I'll probably get them in the spring when business picks up more.
For right now I figured this was the best bang for my buck

Yah i got those TM Top Gun sticks and cannibalized em too, If you go to the link i posted you will see how i opened my tqs throttle and replaced the potentiometers and buttons with 2 top gun sticks inyards. There is a Top gun joystick behind the flcs joystick in the upper right hand corner, can only see siluette. I still have about 3 Top gun sticks i havent touched yet but plan too. Most of my crap is tapped together too, Custom ergonomics baby yah!

I love the pedals i got, 10 or more years old now but work like a charm, just gotta replace the potentiometer about every 3 years. (Thrustmaster RCS)

I run a game port to usb adaptor on all my stuff and it smoothes it right out, cant say how it works but it does!
